Goalie Trade
So the Coyotes give up a 30pt depth guy, a top 15 or so goalie for....a cap dump, a goalie cap dump, and McCann who has also been mediocre this year?

Kerfoot is literally being used as a cap dump, there is no need for him in Chicago nor is there a reason for Chicago to **** their cap for 3 years with Kerfoot to be a 4th line C. Chicago sending the bettter pick is downright laughable

So Chicago gives up the better 2nd rounder while also making their cap situation worse and bailing out the Leafs? Throw in Torontos first like the Marleau deal and change CHis 2nd to a 5th then we can talk

Did you really think a 4th rounder would be all it took for Seattle to take Matthesson's contract that still runs for another 5 years on top of being an awful player. Bless your heart

Youd have to add to get Beaudin anyway. Hawks already have a 4C they dont need another in Roslovic

FULL REBUILD TRADING CORE
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kotkaniemi15</b></div><div>The Kane trade is horrible for the Hawks. They get:
- a backup goalie
- one of the worst defensemen & contracts in the NHL
- an ok young player that could be a 3rd liner (Mittlestadt)
- a 1st, a 2nd, & an ok prospect
So a whole lot of nothing, in exchange for one of the best players of his generation and the best American player of all time. This is probably a worse return than Ryan O’Reilly got.</div></div>
Its an awful Kane trade but the ROR trade is still the worst.
2 Cap dumps and Thompson for ROR... One of the cap dumps said **** it and walked away from 5 million just to not even player in Buffalo

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>Sure</div></div>
Roslovic isnt some special player. He was drafted in 2014 and hasnt shown anything past being a decent 4th liner. I wouldnt trade a higher end D prospect for Roslovic at all unless picks are added. You dont trade people with upside for busts and major draft disappointments like Roslovic

Why would we do this? Roslovic is a bust. OP is trading someone better for a overrated prospect that has peaked as a 4C.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>The 1st half of the year Murray was one of the most dominate goalies in the league.
The 2nd half...He had Jack Johnson as his 1LD......maybe you can figure it out.
He the same guy that was 7th in save% the year prior with a stellar defense of Jack Johnson, Eric Gudbranson and Justin Schultz.
Let me know how those other 58 goalies would have done with that defense.</div></div>
First 20 games .897 sv%.... You can make up excuses all you want but 1: Jarry completely smoked Murray in every metric, 2: Pit was top 5 in every defensive category, shots against, high danger chances agaisnt, xGA, etc

I mean maybe if you did you'd realize there are a bunch of names of people who are 34+ years old.
Go count the goalies on there under 30</div></div>
And every one of those goalies put up better stats than Murray who was worse statistically than 58 goalies who played this year...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>nope they won't. And he won't sign a 1 year deal. They got cap.
They can pay him almost 4.5 mil if need be and be fine.
They will send him off to Seattle next year.
There are expected to be a lot of back to back games this season, if it takes place. High risk of infection etc... means players could miss time. Having a 1A and 2A in net is fine.
Too many people assume he's already gone.
They fixed their cap issues buying out JJ.
They won't trade him unless they get what they want. It's not even an argument.
Teams are in need of goaltending. The penguins are not in need to move Murray.
They got 1 roster spot that needs filled. 3C. And there are cheap options. Wennberg being bought out is an example of that.
Moving Murray is not nearly as much as a concern as Chicago finding a goaltender.</div></div>
Someone hasnt looked at the goalie market this offseason...

The Athletic rumor mill
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>Brett Connolly vs Mikael Granlund <strong>Neither player is even going to be in the league at this rate</strong>
Hampus Lindholm vs Jacob Trouba <strong>Lindholm is a lot better than Trouba who has tanked in NY</strong>
Sean Monahan vs Bo Horvat <strong>Look at their careers so far and try again</strong>
Jake Virtanen vs Nik Ehlers <strong>Again Virtananen was a mid first round pick that Benning wanted to take very early</strong>
Pavel Zacha vs Timo Meier <strong>Citing a player taken 10+ spots above where every scouting list had him doesnt make your point correct</strong>
Matthew Tkachuk vs Mikhail Sergachev
Please show me where the separation is</div></div>
See above. When you have to cite a lot of bad reaches to pretend you are right it doesnt really help your point at all.

As long as you dont make a dumb reach like Vancouver did it works out.
