Miromanov and weegar have been great together. I'd leave that pairing alone, brodie and andersson might work but I think their are better and younger options for a LD to pair with him. Easy pass on Dumba.

Yea def not Marchy, they'll make some room for him elsewhere on the lineup
Stevie is probably one of the best centers available though, he's going to get paid.

Moore -- Danault -- Arvidsson/Fiala have been our most effective and consistent line since January 1, 2023. That's right, 2023, not 2024. We won't be trading him unless you don't like Zeev Buium at 4th overall.

Kylington definitely should be paired with Weegar or Andersson. I'd prefer him with Weegar but until we find another top 4 LD (likely not until the offseason) it makes sense to keep Weegar at LD.
Forward lines are a bit of a work in progress. Can't really do much about them until the this summer when hopefully Conroy can weaponize all that cap space and trade assets to sign or trade for some good players to fill the holes. Centers and right shot forwards with some speed and skill who aren't small compete and work hard.
What'd be really nice is to pick up a true sniper, a goal scorer who's dangerous shooting from just about anywhere in the offensive zone and can change games. Calgary hasn't had one of those in a long time. A big physical top 6 power forward (even a left shot) would be nice too, someone who forechecks, hit's hard, is a disruptive net front presence and gets some greasy goals.

Exactly! The only thing Batherson has on Coleman is age.

No chance Calgary does that not even without the retention. Coleman has more goals and more points than Batherson this year. On top of which Coleman is a much grittier far better two way player who is hard to play against and an important veteran leader for Calgary too.

Note to Leafs fans. You don't get anything for cap dumps you have to pay someone to take them off your hands.

Calgary accepts.
It's funny how Devils fans keep talking about Mercer like he's a sure fire top 6 center yet they don't want to pay him like one. If that's all they offer him some team might present him with an offer sheet in the $4,290,126 - $6,435,186 range which requires a 1st and a 3rd for compensation.
An offer sheet for $4,290,125 would only require a 2nd for compensation but NJ would match that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>This is a Fair Deal that SJS win in the long-run. VEG gets a decent player with term but he’s 30, so likely only has a couple decent season left in him whereas SJS get a 1st + Top Prospect, which may become a Star and they open up Cap Space to sign a Younger Player that fits their rebuild
Not a Fan of Grier as a Manager, but I don’t mind this one for the Sharks</div></div>
I agree. He's not worth $6.75 million now and he likely won't be getting better. A 1st and a good prospect for a bad deal and two thirds seems really good.

Great PK guy as well. Throws hits, but it's not just physicality for the sake of physicality. His defensive metrics are overall quite good. I just put some money on the Avs to win the cup again after seeing Duhaime (who I also really liked) and Trenin

I thought Calgary did what was expected in these deals. It sucks watching them have to dismantle their team. At what point do you maybe trade Americans before they hit this position
The Lindholm deal seems like the biggest positive. I’m curious to see what Boston gives to get him and how it compares if it happens

(CGY/PHI/VGK) - Hanifin for for Miromanov, 2024 5th (VGK), 2025 1st (VGK), 2025 3rd (VGK)
Conroys streak of questionable trades continues. Trading Hanifin was a prime opportunity for the Flames to recoup some good futures, but they somehow managed to completely blunder the trade of one of the best players on the market. I guess the 1st isn't bad, although at this point it'll probably be 32nd overall and I do like Miromanov, but that just isn't enough. This is down right horrible for Calgary, and to make things worse they settled on this with a divisional rival...
For Vegas, this is a move that propels them even further towards the Cup. The idea of pairing Hanifin with Pietrangelo is terrifying. He's still got so many years of good hockey left in him, and it seems like Vegas will be able to get him re-signed. I already felt bad for any team in the west that has the misfortune of coming across Vegas in the playoffs, and it's even scarier now that they've bolstered their already stacked blue line while also still having room to add another huge asset. It's already game over for the rest of the league, we better hope the Knights don't land Buchnevich or Guentzel. Must be so nice having a front office that is just flat out fantastic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>Sure, yet Conroy still got more for each than all of those and Hanifin is supposedly getting an extension, so isn’t the “rental” that everybody said would only bring those types of “comps”</div></div>
There is no such thing as extension price and rental price. It’s all one market and top price wins.
Hanifin got 1st, 3rd and waiver-bound pending UFA
Tanev got 2nd, prospect
Zadorov got 3rd, 5th
The extras on first two were small, for retention. Extra on Zadorov were to move him early.
I posted the exact thing on Zadorov trade thread.

VEGAS PULLING IN ON HANIFIN WOW
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>This seems far more plausible than the other posted rumors on here</div></div>
Tampa was probably lowballing or just couldn't afford Hanifin. Vegas in makes a lot of sense. Martinez is going to walk ( 36 yr old ) + include Hague in the deal and you cleared money for Hanifin's extension.
Now what does this mean for Guentzel? Gotta believe they just couldn't agree on a extension. Opens the door for Vancouver and the 3team deal w Lindholm. Don't count out Carolina and New York. I also heard Nashville but it's less realistic.

That’s worth more than a 1st and Markstrom is arguably worth more than a 1st the way he’s playing right now
I’m willing to say Holtz is worth more than a late-1st for sure, but how good will NJD be with Markstrom in net and where will that pick land is the question/gamble</div></div>
Arguably worth more than a 1st, but at this point seems like he wants out and hard to deny you’ve done well as a GM getting a 1st. Nobody is upset with 1sts.
No goalie has went for 2 1sts in a LONG time
