Yo Arizona
No-one in their right mind will give their top prospect (Broberg) for a ageing player with horrible contract like OEL,,,Broberg can net you the top player in game, that is how good that kid is right now, he was the most impressive palyer even last year and Holland decide to keep him in minors because over-ripe strategy
It will be a lose-lose for Oilers

now that rnh is signed
Now 1st for Neal makes sense but not for Koskinen, you didn't even picked his replacement?
Also Hall would cost you either 8x4 or 7x6 or 6x8...he ain't cheap even in thsi market...also he carries a curse, wherever he goes (EDM 2010-2016,,,,NJ....Ari...Buffalo (just when the thought tide is turning, it si going to get worse,,,,BOS (just see them blow up in a year or two in Atlantic divison where other teams are just getting better and BOS core ageing)

if Danault gets a huge offer on the UFA market
overpayment for Palat, he will come cheap since he got just 1 year and you slotting him at bottom 6

3 good lines
You overpaid for a 3rd, Yanni Gourde will comes cheap, EDM has all the advantage, it will be a late pick or just a Mid Tier prospect
Also, you gave away 1st rounds like Candies, how do Oilers survive without these picks?
Also overpaid Yamamoto for bridge deal, he will get 2x2 just like Bear

TBL offseason v9 more realistic
You are not getting 1st for Palat, it could be other way where you may have to surrender 2nd to get rid of Palat contract which is merely a rental at 1 year. Teams are going to feast at Tampa this year because of cap unless Tampa pull another one of LTIR shenanigans, which again will be big talk in hockey world and no way NHL allow they LTIR player to get back in time for playoff 2nd time around

Realistic cap management with strengthen team also room for future improvements
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mk458</b></div><div>There's nothing realistic about this, and I'm an oilers fan.
Washington isn't trading Kuznetsov for RNH, who could be available in free agency anyways. And RNH certainly isn't signing for a 5.5 million cap hit.
Jones doesn't get us debrusk, although I'd we add a pick that trade has some potential.
Seattle is probably scared off by Kassians cap hit for 3 more years, we probably lose someone else.
Yamamoto doesn't sign at that cap hit for 4 years, probably 2 years.
Grubauer almost certainly stays with Colorado.
And Mike Smith has probably earned a slight pay raise (maybe a 2 million dollar cap hit), but who knows what he'll sign for honestly.</div></div>
FLAT CAP era will show us some crazy stuff this year more so than last year I guess, all these things could happne....AS for Washisgton, colorado and Boston, cap crunch is coming, no one wanna lose good players but agian you have to choose who you can keep and who is going to walk so better get some prospects than nothing

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Hard hard hard no from boston. RNH is a ufa.</div></div>
Boston will try to resign HAll and they do not have the cap, plus Debrusk fallen out of favor there, he is paying on their 3rd line and his points dropped this year, guess that will make any player upset and start trade rumors...it is not Jones Boston wants it is the cap crunch they will feel fi they sign Hall
AS for RNH, his first choice would be Oilers so it could be similar to when Montreal signed Subban and traded him afterwards, anything happen in flat cap era
Oilers need to be creative if they want to be contenders for years to come

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Washington aren't trading a Kutzetnov for RNH.... Gee they would trade Kutzy for assets and sign RNH as a UFA. Kinda optimistic that Seattle wants Kassian and his cap hit.</div></div>
CAP-CAP- CAP, Washington need to shed some cap so it could happen.... if they try to sign RNH, everyone will know they must trade Kutzy to stay under cap that will drop his value drastically so again we can get him for cheap assets but again RNH's first preference is Oilers- I think?

Realistic 2021-22 and room for improvement
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrueCanuck</b></div><div>Nugent-Hopkins isn't taking the same AAV without longer than 4 years committed to him. He'll likely be one of the top free agents and will get more than that.
If Hyman signs that deal, it's in Toronto. He's not leaving. Team loves him. Hyman loves the team. They have the room for him. He's not moving anywhere.
Ullmark likely gets longer term, and it's not high enough AAV for him if he's moving to Canada due to the slightly higher tax rate.
All valid points, I don't mind 6x5 or 5.5x8 for RNH, he is good player but not great, he was signed in era when oilers were throwing money, looks at what Eberle got in NYI, also HAll also find the team, so its safe bet RNH take a oay cut of bet on himself for 203 yr deal with years till salary cap is extended again
As for Goalie, I think this eyar is crucial for Oilers, they are becoming real contenders now and I hope some goalie realizes this and come over to win a ring rather than look for jus the money. but I expect the Mike Smith to stay and Koskinen will be dealt with retained salary or something
& that's a massive overpay for Tyson Barrie. He's really not that good. He's helped out by playing top PP minutes with McDavid and Draisaitl. He's a defensive liability and makes poor shot decisions in the offensive zone. He's not worth anything over $4M and teams are gonna overpay cause they're blindsided by point totals</div></div>

Why Lagesson jettison? (With CJ exposed especially)
Very small chance the 5th ends up as good as him
You are right about 5th round not enough, but this is the reality in flat cap era, plus we have plenty of defencemen on roster and I rather go with some veterans than all freshmen, we are going to lose hi for nothing otherwise</div></div>
