I feel like the big 4 stays put
The front office has pretty much already cam out and said they big 4 are staying put. Obviously something could change their mind before next year though. Think they should see what teams expansion protection lists are and look to trade Rielly to Seattle for a couple guys they like and have them pick in the draft for them.

Another try at Savard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KileDoobis</b></div><div>I had heard that the Jackets asking price was high for Savard, but I'm happy if it's less than a first</div></div>
I've heard the same, but I don't know if they'll get a first for him. If they retain 50%, then I could see it but at full price I think it's an overpay in a buyer's market.

I think a 1st is an overpay for no salary retention, in a buyer's market.

in my opinion youll have to overpay. hes a legit good goaltender who wants to play here. i dont see us trading him. you can maybe replace him for korpi

I think the Oilers would out bid the Leafs for Elvis, but I can’t see them trading either goalie until the offseason at the earliest.

CBJ arnt trading Elvis. He's the only good goalie they have. Your value of Savard is way off. You compare him to the Muzzin deal but he doesn't have the valuable part, an extra year of term.

If They Kept Kadri
i am very confused
gardiner was a disaster, had back problems, multiple surgeries, ultimately ended up seriously struggling in carolina and is now a borderline cap dump, we should not have kept him ever
I would rather have marner for 6 years at 10.893 than 8m for 2 years

Something realistic for Barkov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KileDoobis</b></div><div>do the Rangers even need Barkov? Zibanejad seems an adequate 1C to me</div></div>
Some would say Zib might be somewhat overrated. However, to have a Barkov / Zibanejad - 1 / 2 punch gives them one of the best C combos in the league. You cant win a cup without having legit center depth which we dont have.

Can the Leafs Afford to Upgrade the Blue Line
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lyle_Bubas</b></div><div>basically, I think your space space is calculated every single day, and if you already have space, you accrue more. It's prorated, so any cap you don't spend NOW, you get LATER.
If the leafs spend every single day 1.5M under the cap, come deadline day, they will have an effective cap of 83M. It gives teams a reason to not spend to the cap 24/7
It's calculated per day though and typically your cap hit changes with injuries etc. but not spending to the cap is good because it gives you more cap later
It's why the leafs bounced players up and down between games, because think of it as dragging down their average cap hit when you look at the 200 day season come deadline day
It's wizard sh*t but that's why we have Brandon Pridham lmao</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheLeafsSeason</b></div><div>I never understood the process of having "more cap space" at the trade deadline from the end of the offseason</div></div>
That’s close, it does all have to do with daily cap hits. Like affording a player at TDL.
When you acquire a player at TDL you are only responsible for the remainder of the players daily cap hit. In a regular season you can figure out a players daily cap hit by dividing it by 186.
Accruing cap space during the season can be looked at as daily as well. A teams daily allowance at 81.5m is $432,172. If there is money left over it doesn’t disappear. It accrues. It goes back into your remaining cap.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RangerWall92</b></div><div>Marner may be overpaid, but he's not overrated</div></div>
It’s not that he’s bad at hockey, it’s just some view him as a top 5 winger in the league and he isn’t one. I love Marner just as much as leaf fans do, but I just can’t necessarily wrap my head around that.

I'm not talking about you personally. But would it be possible to cut down the number of final final final Leaf rosters on here from 30 per hour to 10? Thanks.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KileDoobis</b></div><div>I really like the moves hes made so far as well, I'm not criticizing that here. Dermott signing the QO would be surprising to me.</div></div>
I’ve been saying it for a while. If he does get more it will be for added term. He has no real leverage and adding more Dmen to the roster has given him less. Signing his QO gives him arbitration rights next year.
Definitely not a sure thing but there is reason to think there’s a benefit to atleast signing a cheap 1 year deal.
If anyone goes I would have to think it is Holl.
