<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>Pesce very likely would resign with Nashville. He doesn't want Canada. He doesn't want the West coast. He'll stick around in Nashville if they pay him fair value. If a team can't make room for Brett Pesce then they must be a dynasty on defense.

Bordeleau isn't a lackluster prospect. He's got serious 2C upside. Weisblatt is a former 1st whose value went down the past few seasons but has regained his form as of late. He was noticeably the 2nd best player on the ice in SJ's developmental camp game a few weeks ago behind Musty. SJ has drafted/signed too many RWs of late, so he's expendable only in that sense.

The PHI 2024 2nd included in the deal here has plenty of value since it'll more than likely be in the 33-37 range. PHI will suck this season.

Askarov's a great top-6-7 goalie prospect in the league. But let's not pretend a team has to move heaven and earth to be able to acquire him. No one's trading a grade-A+ prospect for him. And he'll have to wait a long, long time in NSH behind their goalies, which is why they were open to shopping him as part of a package deal for a higher pack in the 2023 draft. Bordeleau+Weisblatt+a high 2024 2nd is perfectly fair value -- it's just a matter of if NSH decides to trade one of their goalies instead of Askarov, which doesn't seem to be the case.</div></div>

A #6-7 prospect? Askarov is widely considered to be a #1-2 goalie prospect.

Paying Pesce much more than he already makes as he enters his 30s, isn't my preferred move for the Preds. Plus NSH has a glut on the right side already. Bringing in Pesce doesn't make sense unless one of their other RDs is getting shipped out in the deal.

Bordeleau and Weisblatt are of little interest. NSH desperately needs a #1 center, but they have enough middle six centers with more upside than Bordeleau in Glass, Pärssinen, Novak, and Svechkov. RW is also where NSH's pool is the deepest - Wood, Kemell, Evangelista, Tomasino. I didn't watch the Sharks' prospect camp so I don't know how much Weisblatt suddenly improved, but I'd rather have that 2nd than either of the SJ prospects. There's no way NSH is trading someone with superstar potential for this kind of return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyScotty</b></div><div>I assumed since they extended him that he fits in their future plans while Fabbro doesn't (lots of trade speculation since the deadline).</div></div>

With the extension they gave him, it is more of a 'Prove It' year than anything being he'll now be a UFA after this season. Both Fabbro and Carrier have trade speculation around them as those 2, along with Lauzon... one of them starts the season as a scratch.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AEcho</b></div><div>There is some weird push from some NSH fans that say he isn't that good because he isn't the top D man to pair with Josi they thought he was, so some people might say a 2nd or 3rd, but realistically the lowest NSH would probably go, for a single pick, would be a high to mid 2nd round pick for Fabbro. Given where COL is likely to end up, a low first round pick is about right especially considering NSH needs to take on MacDermid to make the money work. As you said, he is a really solid 2-way D who is top 4 for most teams. NSH has just been blessed to be a D production powerhouse over the last 10-15 years and fans have grown accustom to it.</div></div>

This is pretty spot on for the value of Fabbro in my eyes. Being an RFA still provides some control to a team who acquires him. I would say Carrier's value would be 1 round less. Mid-Low 2nd round or high 3rd.

But as it goes for either player, once the season starts and they do show the upside that they supposedly have, the values will only go up.
