<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisjulienstillhere</b></div><div>Not sure how in the world you got Drouin as a comparable. drouins shot is weak, he's physically weak and two of his biggest problems are not wanting to shoot the puck and holding onto the puck for two long instead of making nice pass, he ends up losing the puck for nothing. literally the polar opposite of Miroshnichenko

Not saying you or even the guy in the article are doing this as he has him ranked 20th which funny enough is where I've been arguing the habs should take him in this scenario and he has him ranked ahead of all the guys you want to take over Miroshnichenko. obviously one man's opinion but I "feared" he had him outside of the first round or something absurd like eliteprospetcs. some people defiantly take harsh views on "controversial" players hoping that their view is correct and they can use it as their "claim to fame" I believe Craig Button who you dont seem to like does this from time to time

our whole conversation seems to come down to me wanting Miroshnichenko to be picked at 20 in this situation by Montreal due to his immense upside generated by outstanding tools
you don't seem to like him because of his lack of vision and his poor "hockey iq"</div></div>

It's a comparable to Drouin on draft day. At least what I somewhat remember hearing about him before the Draft back then. You are correct that it doesn't work with current-day-Drouin.

Having him outside of the first round isn't particularly absurd. It depends on how much you value certain aspects of the game. And "all the guys" I "want to take over Miroshnichenko", I don't want to. I just said they have similar upside because you said he has insane upside and I simply don't think that.

You are correct with that assessment. In the end, it does likely make somewhat sense for the Habs to pick him. I think I was more viewing this as a "any pick"-situation instead of specifically the Habs pick even though I knew which pick it was about. I now want to take back this "I would be in a rush to pass on him because he's a huge project". He shouldn't be rushed to pass on. I just don't like the thought of using a high pick on him, but since the Habs have multiple 1sts, it's fine. But, for example, I wouldn't want the Ducks to pick him at 17 here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisjulienstillhere</b></div><div>Would you remove him and replace the second with a first? And I completely understand your side which is avoiding giving up the first and you seem to understand my side which is trying to get that first as that could be a nice piece for us moving forward. Our draft is at home and that being our second pick maybe we could swing for the fence

Again it’s possible I’m overvaluing my teams players just a bit as all fans do, but if I’m giving up a good top 4 d who you guys would love for the playoffs and could resign plus a good top 6 winger on a value contract, I’m trying to get into my comfort zone which is savoie who is solid but not great plus a first

Anyways no matter what this is a solid trade and I’m probably being a bit fussy about the return, just have savoie and that first in my head</div></div>

Thank you. Myself, and another guy on here are the ones that made that trade, as you may have seen the exact same one on a habs post. If we took Samorukov off the trade, and if it all came down to either I give the first, or I don’t get the players, then I would upgrade the pick to a first, and get Samorukov off the trade. I understand if you are overvaluing your players, I do too. I agree they would be great for the oilers, and if Chiarot signed, that would make the trade even better for us. I definitely understand why you want the first… you seem to be a nice guy, thank you for not ripping my head off, and saying the trade is trash.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Howisjulienstillhere</b></div><div>Mixed emotions with bergevin for me

He’s been 10x better recently but still a couple of iffy move. Giving Suzuki 8 for nothing but not giving kk a chance? Not upgrading at c this offseason.

And holding onto Timmons way too ****ing long, he’s been better recently but still not great

Gotta give bergevin some credit though for some nice moves of late. Also is the gutsiest gm in the league

Do think he’s done after this season, his choice</div></div>

KK would still be playing with the Habs if not for Carolina's completely absurd offer. They were being cheeky and wanted to play immature games. I completely agree with Montreal to take the picks and go get Dvorak. So you can't blame Bergevin on that. Suzuki is and will be a very productive player, he will settle down with his new contract and play much better, give him a little more time. But not a bad contract for a 1st line Centre in the NHL.

I strongly disliked Timmins and often called for his resignation but I will give credit, he has done much better his last 4 drafts. My gut tells me Marc will move closer to his kids. I was a GM in Junior and my phone rang constantly, I could not even enjoy a meal with my family without my phone ringing, so I can only imagine what it is like at the NHL level.

What I do not like on capfriendly and RDS, is that people comment based on if the team won or lost. We lose a few and it is full of crazy trades and they hate Bergevin. We win a few and people like the team and Bergevin. It must be frustrating living a life based on emotions.
