Miro to LTIR
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>captainemotion</b></div><div>I haven’t watched any Stars so I have no clue if this is an over/under pay, if they will look for external help with the Miro injury, so please educate me.
I think that the best version of Gryzelcyk retrieving pucks, skating out of trouble, and snapping breakout passes to Star’s forwards would look great.</div></div>
Its unlikely a top round prospect gets moved for Matty G - Lian was highly regarded in pick in 2022 as a two way D man. Not sure if he will develop, but he is still seen by many as a solid prospect.

HANIFIN IS A BRUIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delete</b></div><div>i wouldnt be so sure he wouldnt resign in calgary.i actually think adding Ruzicka in this deal is a overpay for calgary.Hanifin is worth a 1st and a 2nd.Hanifin is young,a outstanding skater and a very good dman.</div></div>
Keep Ruzicka then - he is another bottom 6 forward which the Bruins have loads of. He is a 25 year old center who has struggled to crack the line up. Hanifin is indeed a good player, but again, Bruins don't have a lot of prospect depth. They won't move a smooth skating, puck moving D man under a rookie contract and a 1st for Noah. They are better off staying the course with Lohrei, letting him develop and have a D man you can use for a number of years to come with a very manageable contract.
Again this isn't the year for "all in" when you don't have Bergeron or Krecji. Add depth pieces at reasonable price points and then go UFA shopping next summer.

For two guys who haven’t done anything meaningful this year.</div></div>
Meaningful this year....... Wennberg hasn't done anything meaningful since 016-17 season lol

HANIFIN IS A BRUIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delete</b></div><div>ya thats how boston has always operated, lets not add a really good dman, and hope we can sign him as a ufa.Hanifin will be extended long before the summer.</div></div>
I wouldn't say that is how they always operate - I mean generally speaking they are in the top 5 for GA and have good defensive metrics. I mean the Bruins have made deadline trades in which they thought would improve their team - Taylor Hall, Lindholm, Bertuzzi etc. The difference this year, they aren't all in for Bergeron. Bruins are doing ok right now and there is no reason to pay that price for Noah. If he extends before summer, he extends (that being said, doesn't look likely it will be with the Flames). There are other players to trade for or sign.

Boston goes all in - Lindholm and Hanifin extend
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delete</b></div><div>Boston is the last team i am dealing with because they have no picks and Poitras is really there best prospect, but im not seeing a real high ceiling at the world juniors.so this trade breaks down like this for me.the 1st in 2026 and Lohrei for Hanifin,ok? but its the rest that doesnt do it for me.Poitras a 3rd and Debrusk who is barely a top 6 winger, for Lindholm.i would need a 1st,which Boston doesnt have instead of the 3rd,and Debrusk doesnt interest me,he is what he is at this point, and doesnt move the needle.and like i said Poitras doesnt really get me that excited.just like Ritchie and the avs 1st doesnt do it for me either for Lindy, but at least they have a 1st.i prefer Byram for Lindy with Girard coming back to replace Byram. But Hanifin who is from the the area makes sense, but how about the 1st in 2026 and former 2nd pick Poitras for him.i think Hanifin brings a 1st and 2nd just like Hronek did.and Poitras is worth more than a 2nd at this point, but the Bruins 1st isnt till 2026.</div></div>
You wont have to worry to much, the Bruins wouldn't part ways with all those assets to land Noah and Elias. Bruins likely go bargain hunting at the deadline and then go UFA shopping next summer.

HANIFIN IS A BRUIN
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Augustus</b></div><div>Agree. If the Bruins can get Hanifin extended, Lohrei and a likely late 1st is a pretty good deal. Although to be fair Lohrei already looks pretty good as a rookie, just stats wise anyway. That 1st could demand a little something beyond Hanifin, dunno..</div></div>
Bruins likely pass on this one, they have contract control with Lohrei and they need to see what they have with him. If the reports are true, Noah was exploring going home to Boston as a UFA this summer anyway. No point in giving this much up. Bruins stay the course and go UFA shopping in the summer.

You can keep him, Bruins don't want him after holding out wanting a large multi year deal, then when he came back to the bruins realizing he wasn't getting that deal anywhere else, they said we have moved on. He took the the best team that paid him the most on a 1 year prove myself and wait for the cap to go up next year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Element23VM</b></div><div>85s are still good players, top 6 for sure... but I don't see him as being elite.
NJ did the same thing during their glory days of Patrick Elias... they could never afford the guys Elias bolstered so the linemates moved on, made big money, and teams thought they were getting elite players when they were really just getting top 6 players bolstered by Patrick Elias on their line... see Clarkson, Gomez, Gionta, Arnott, Sykora, etc... just the way it is.
I hope the team trading for him gets an elite player out of him, but I won't at all be surprised if his production goes down a step on another team.</div></div>
I get your POV for sure, I mean I consider the elite players more like the Pasta, Sids, McDavids etc. Those players (and more) are elite. Jake is a great little player and will likely still do well in any team he would move to given his skill and ethic. As for some of the players you mentioned, Clarkson, Gionta and Gomez were not as raw skilled as Jake. Arnott was good player and likely doesn't belong on your list for what he did.
Sure there is buying beware on almost any trade - I mean look at Laine? Its not like he forgot how to play hockey, just some coaches and systems don't always bring out the best in players, some let them excel and some handcuff them.

Massive buyer beware for me. It's smart for Pittsburgh to move him, because I think they're 80% likely to win that trade.</div></div>
That is a bit of a bold statement - he is a good hockey player that is made better with his line mates, but never the less he would be a solid player for almost any team.

Bruins Deadline Move
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KrakenTheCode</b></div><div>That trade offer would be met with a very quick no from Seattle. Bjorkstrand is the better, more well rounded forward and has been the superior player this season, not to mention he's signed for the next couple of seasons at a very reasonable rate. The two draft picks aren't enough to bridge the value gap between DeBrusk, and Bjorkstrand, especially if Seattle is retaining several years worth of cap. Furthermore, if the Kraken trade Bjorky it would be a signal they're punting on this season, meaning DeBrusk with his expiring contract wouldn't be of much use to them anyway. So overall, the trade doesn't make any sense for the Kraken from a roster construction or value perspective.</div></div>
He has been more consistent from a pts perspective (0.61 pts per game vs JDB 0.57 pts per game), but not sure he is a better all around player. I mean Olly never plays the PK and basically plays the PP and ES. JDB plays the PK (second this year TOI for the Bruins for forwards) and he is a better skater that Oliver - so not sure you can say the all round is better. He definitely plays a more consistent game, but to be honest, this trade makes no sense for either team. Bruins don't need to part ways with additional picks for very little to no upgrade, not to mention the Kraken don't need to move a player that fits their system and appears to be happy playing there.

I agree with your comments, but whoever made the trade isn't likely in their right state of mind. First, DeBrusk isn't a bust, just the Bruins should have done better in the draft. Kid players loads of PK, scores 20 goals per seas etc. Far from a bust.
That being said, the Oilers aren't moving a center under a good contract that had a banner year last year for a UFA winger. Oilers need D and goaltending.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>But will DeBrusk forecheck or will he be in Tocchet's doghouse too?</div></div>
I know you hate DeBrusk and think he is trash and a Bruin throw away - but I am guessing you really haven't watched him play much? Pretty sure this year he may be the leading forwards or top 2 (Bruins roster) for the PK and time on ice playing short handed. Usually players who cannot forecheck or are terrible in that regard don't play the PK frequently for their team.
JDB being in the dog house with Cassidy was more of a personality clash and coaching style, of which many Bruins in the exit interviews basically told the Bruins brass Cassidy had to go. Is there a chance he and Tocchet don't see eye to eye....sure but that can be said about a lot players in the NHL. I mean Suter basically lost half the Flames locker room in short order. It happens.

Albatross of a contract and not many teams will take that on without getting something back as incentive. It's not a matter of the money its the term, he will be like 38 and making $10+ million a season and the past 2 years with the Flames have not been ideal selling years to say the least.

Seeing as Zadorov is on team number 5 in what 10 seasons - perhaps he really isn't as good as people think or he is bad in the locker room etc. Flames got what they traded for him and an extra pick for a disgruntled player who went public.
