Are we good
Moving Danault or Domi only happens if Berge gets something of need in return. We want to compete we don’t want pieces that are 2-3 years away. We have centre depth and prospects this trade doesn’t offer enough value.

More ideas on how to stay under the cap
Ummmm yeah no chance on that Habs deal...pretty much all of these trades are easily rejected. First off no one waived their no trade clause and if you want cap help teams aren’t likely to give up valuable pieces to help you, they would rather watch your squirm and force you to give up your pieces for scraps.

Getting a big fish on the market
Getting Hall would open up lots of trade options for us and I have no issue with moving Domi and Tatar but you’re giving them away for way less than they’re worth. Domi should bring in a legit NHL ready winger and Tatar should get a first and decent prospect. Trading them for fourth liners isn’t going to cut it.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jgimp69</b></div><div>I’m not saying that he isn’t a good player, I’m saying that he’s not worth giving up a 22 yr old potential 50 goal a year scorer for. All peg fans see (and no offence to your offer) is hot garbage of aging, declining or 4 quarters for a dollar trades from Montreal fans. I’ve said all along that if Montreal wants Laine, I would want one of your untouchables because like I said, giving up a player on Laine’s scoring ability and potential should net you more than the players that most Montreal fans offer. I’m not expecting a kings ransom for Laine, all I want is a young, quality, cost controlled piece back.</div></div>
If it’s not what you want then that’s fine but Your assessment of players is off. Reject it if you want but this offer is not nearly as bad as you’re playing it off to be. Habs fans are trying to base trades on your team needs of another top 6 centre and holes in your D. This trade gives you an extended Domi who is young and has a 70 point season on a mediocre Habs team. Petry is a very solid D even if he is in this 30’s....Juulsen has top 4 potential and could be as good or better than Chiarot and this years first is going to be a good young piece.
Is Winnipeg rebuilding or trying to win?? This type of trade checks off the boxes in terms of what you’re missing and includes a mid first round pick in a deep draft. Oh and let’s not forget about the cap dump we’re taking on, that has some value too.

Different WPG Trade
Rebuilds happen faster when you add lots of picks and prospects. Mete is a young NHL D who still hasn’t reached his potential. Harris is also solid prospect. Don’t want Domi fine trade him there would be teams who want him and will give up a first plus.
Turning Mantha into two firsts, potentially three seconds and two young D men is a heck of a return.
I’m not doing it as a habs fan regardless, that’s too much for an often injured 25 goal 50 point player.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jgimp69</b></div><div>I highly doubt he will keep this pace for 3 years. If you think it’s a good choice to take on a 32 year old player player for a young player like Laine maybe we could swing a deal like Wheeler for Suzuki as a base. After all, Wheeers still effective and has gotten better over the last few years, I’m sure your response will be the same as mine.
Any other aging players you want the Jets to take for our young superstars??</div></div>
Alright cranky pants all I’m saying is Petry absolutely hasn’t declined or showed any signs of declining. That’s the only comment I made so I don’t know what the other **** your talking about has to do with me saying Petry isn’t declining. Chara is still a legit D and he’s 43 why the hell couldnt Petry make it to 36???

I mean if we’re going to get Cirelli we might as well get rid of Danault. KK and Suzuki are going to be centres. Might as well go one step further and get another good winger or a damn god D for Danault.
Also Tatar should bring in more than that.

Doubt Domi resigns (I know it assumes he does in the OP) and zero interest in resigning an aging and declining Petry. The 1st is nice and Juulsen might make it as a T4 if he can stay healthy and pull it all together but there isn’t anything here of any wow. Whether Montreal fans like it or not, Chev won’t listen unless one of Suzuki, KK or Romanov are coming back.</div></div>
I would love to hear how you think Petry is declining, his game has only gotten better this year and he was great in the playoffs. He’s easily got 3-4 good years left.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Not for Murray I still think he is an average goalie that played for a really good team. Much like Osgood in Detroit stepped up when Detroit needed him to but wouldn't have gotten there with out a very good team in front of him. Yzerman did draft Vasilevskiy in the 1st round but it was Tampa's second pick of the round and in the second half of the 1st round. In my opinion #4OA is way too early to take a goalie.</div></div>
Oh absolutely don’t take Askarov at #4 try and find a way to get another first and take him.

Montreal rejects....I appreciate you including a RHD in the deal instead of A LHD where we have plenty of options, however at this point if Domi is moved it’s for a proven winger.
Never even noticed the contracts lol. I get you guys would desperately want Pietrangelo but I really can’t see it working out without moving one of big names.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mikearky</b></div><div>While I agree, most trades that involve Wings lately are either Mantha for Domi and either Mete, a 2nd round pick or my favorite Mete and two 2nds. The Canucks fans want to dump.Ericksson on Wings with alot of prospects that are not top 5. At one time it was Ericksson, Demko and a 2nd, it has devolved to Ericksson, Depietro, and swapping 3rds.
I understand most fan bases overevaluate their own players but it is becoming clear that people believe on this site, Wings have cap, so they will eat our bad contracts, because they are bad. To add the the injury they want something of value bad. Murray is a NHL goalie, he has won two cups, but for the last 2 years he has been average at best, Pens have goalie in waiting in Jarry and they need to clear a goalie, due to expansion, clear cap to field a team and they are trying to exact something when they are dealing from a weak position .</div></div>
I’m not sure I would say they’re dealing from a weak position. Teams like Edmonton, Calgary and anyone else who’s goalie situation isn’t ideal should be looking at Murray. Your avenue of having cap space and ability to help them out is a good option but the goalie struggling teams may be willing to give up a valuable piece to Pittsburgh if it gave them goaltending confidence for the playoffs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>It has a lot more to do with Murray being an average goalie in the regular season. His GAA and SV% since he came into the league both rank in the mid 30s. You also have to consider that Pittsburgh have exited in the playoffs in the first round the past 2 seasons with Murray in net.</div></div>
Murray isn’t as old as I thought he was, you’re assessment isn’t wrong but with where this team is at presently he may be a decent option. I’d still try annd draft Askarov and Murray could be a good starter until Askarov was ready just when this team is done the rebuild. Murray then comes a solid backup option who can take over if Askarov struggles. Regardless I wouldn’t give up a player like Veleno in order to get Murray.

I’m sure some Detroit fans will hate this idea but I think they should trade someone valuable who’s in their prime now get another first, a good prospect and pick and draft Askarov. They’re in a legit rebuild and need as many young stars that they can get. Drafting a young goalie with the potential of Askarov would be a great move for this team.

I will 100% agree with this headline....Get a first and a high end prospect. The offence is there even without Nylander and the pick and prospect will save cap space going forward and provide some young talent.

Next Season
Reasonable lineup and pretty solid for sure. I really believe that Berge is going to move one of Tatar, Domi or Danault. He won’t be able to keep all of them and shouldn’t let Tatar or Danault go for nothing.
I’m guessing it will be Danault, he’s happy with Suzuki and KK at 1C and 2C and with Domi wanting to be a centre he keeps him because of his age, his potential and grit. Danault would fetch the most on the market and could bring in a nice top 6 winger.
I will go a step further and guess we see a Danault for Ehlers trade. Maybe other players or picks involved but that’s the main pieces.

Come on leaf fans, admit your defence is **** and that’s why you’ve never made it anywhere in the playoffs. Admit your team is full of individuals and lack a true leader. Dumba Would be a great addition to your lineup and is a prime target. Sacrifice some offence to fix your defence and stop thinking your mediocre pieces can land a top tier player. If you seriously think Robertson is going to be a goal scoring machine then move Nylander.

Bit off topic but how long is it going to take the Rangers to become cap ****ed?? They have a ton of high end prospects and the highest paid winger in the league. This roster has 6 quality players all under $925K.
