I apologize for lack of clarity. Here's what I meant:

He turned down some enticing offers from some crappy teams like Ottawa to try to see if a contender like Tampa or Colorado would take an interest, but they don't have cap space. So here he is, having just missed out on a good contract with Ottawa. Florida offers him a one year deal, and at this point he's pretty desperate, so he takes it.

Sujet: Lots of talent left - why?

Really one big reason: The players want money teams can't give them because of the flat cap. Repeating <a href="/users/HabsForEver" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@HabsForEver</a> 's argument, the only teams that can afford the remaining big guys are teams like the sens and the wings, who don't fit the bill. Some people respect what guys like Hoffman are doing, waiting for money that reflects their skill. But I think if they really just want to play hockey, I'd take a cheaper one year deal and hope the market goes back up next season.
