Grant and Kulikov may be accurate on value, but no one is giving us that for Klingberg and Shattenkirk unless half the RHD in the league get injured between now and the TDL.

Anaheim also likes him as a young center, he is great on the third line with the right line mates (i.e. NOT Silfverberg) It's not likely we would trade him away to get an additional right wing, when we have Terry and Strome at 1 and 2.

Can't/won't move him. We just signed him to term, shipping him out at all would mean we could never sign a decent FA as long as Verbeek is GM, shipping him out with any retention would be a very public admittance that Verbeek made a mistake signing him, also 2.5 seasons of retention is too much to keep on the books.
We would retain 50% on Rico for this offer though.

What about Ekholm
Blackwood is not going to replace Gibson as the starter in Anaheim, you put him behind our defense and he will flounder, not to mention his health concerns being exasperated behind a team that lets him see 40+ shots against per night.
Watch the replays of Arizona at Anaheim last night (Jan 28) and you'll see Gibson still has it, and before you point out "It's Arizona, he should win" he also held down the fort for the win against Colorado a couple nights before too, looked stellar then as well.

David Pastrnak BLOCKBUSTER -- BOS amp ANA
Dude, you seriously think Anaheim would give up two top 5 pieces, our leading scorer, and one of our hottest defensive prospects for your pending UFA?
The only piece I would give you for Pastranak is Terry, and that's if Pasta comes with an extension in place. We both know Boston can't afford his extension whatever it is, but you should be able to afford Terry's contract.

Fat stinky Lehner dump
As he only has a 5 team no trade list next season, you potentially could get him to go to Anaheim, but I'm not sure Anaheim takes him unless you send us a guy like White cloud or Hafel, as you'll be tying up the free cap space we need to go sign defensive D UFAs with carrying two starting goalie salaries.
Chicago and Buffalo will both be in need of starting goalies, but not sure you'll convince Lehner to go back to Buffalo. Send could potentially take him back.
Problem is, with so many goalies on the FA market this year, it's a **** time to try and move an expensive goalie coming off a season missing injury.

We don't, and he'd be a terrible partner for Drysdale, you don't put two offensive D together on the same line, and we'd like to put a veteran with Drysdale, not a rookie that Drysdale then has to cover for. We also don't think he'd ever crack our NHL roster. He's certainly not good enough to use as the centerpiece for retaining 1.5 seasons on our 1LW. Trading up 10 places on two mid round selections and Jral does not convince us to ship Rico out of town without retention, let alone with.

Playoff Push - Give Up Something to Get Something
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tbrew</b></div><div>There’s nothing that has suggested Casey would do the 4 years of college to go UFA.
Walsh makes sense though. He’s not getting younger, and doesn’t belong buried in the AHL. He should be on an NHL roster</div></div>
McCarthy did his 4th year of NCAA and probably walks, not Casey.
I think though we can agree on Walsh, gives the guy an opportunity on an NHL roster where the Ducks have an opening paired with Vaakainen.

Seems like he’s bound to be his own comp here, in what’s been a down year by his standards. I agree the dump would make it more costly, but I can’t see Kulikov netting a 3rd when he didn’t get that return while younger and providing more, and definitely wouldn’t cost a. top D prospect to dump</div></div>
It'll take more than a guy you might not even give an ELC to and can walk since he went 4 year NCAA route.
We'll meet in the middle at Walsh.

I'd consider it, yeah, would need to do a bit of learning on Sharangovich's game. I am guessing with Holtz coming up soon that Sharangovich is potentially getting pushed down the lineup?

Considering we were hoping to get a 1st for him with retention (that ship has sailed probably sailed, but with another month until the TDL and injuries piling up, you never know) we're going to require at least a 23 2nd+ to send him out with retention.

Fixing the bottom 6 and D core
We're not entirely wild about the picks being so far in the future, and Duke is not much of a prospect. Swap Max Jones for one of Derek Grant or Sam Carrick and you might have a deal, on the grounds that no one else offers us something better (Seattle, Pittsburgh, or Washington could beat you for his services)

This trade includes a meh prospect, a late first and a cap dump. If toronto is serious about Meier they have to include Knies, and even then offers from NYR, Devils, Canes all fit what the sharks need the most. Sharks have already drafted plenty of guys that can fill bottom 6 rolls, and if they do end up trading meier they will be looking to fill the top 6 in their lineup. Toronto fans seem to think that they can get a Dollar with 4 dimes</div></div>
The offer has a 23 1st, and just like everyone elses, it will be a late 1st. It has a third, and it has two prospects, including their top RHD prospect. Its fine to demand Knies over Robertson, but to call this a **** offer makes us wonder what you are smoking.

If Larkin gets traded
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bannedforlife</b></div><div>Tampa Bay paid 2 1sts for Brandon Hagel, I think rental or extended Larkin gets at least that</div></div>
You apparently misunderstood my question. Which team is going to give you two firsts for Larkin? Not what kind of team, find the match. Now why is that team giving up two firsts, when the likes of Toews, ROR, Horvat, and Maybe Henrique can all be acquired for less?
Larkin (or any pending UFA for that matter) will not return a Hagel deal. Hagel was 23 when the deal was done, on the first year of a three year, 1.5 AAV deal, and his RFA rights are intact at the end. Tampa bought cap security with the deal that Larkinn does not come with. Any extension is going to carry an AAV probably 5 times higher than Hagel if not more. Implying that Larkin should return the same deal because he's a comparable player completely ignores the reason as to WHY Hagel got that kind of return for Chicago.
Sure, if you retain 50% on Larkin, and the acquiring team can get him to agree to a 2x2 extension before the trade, you too can have two firsts for him.

You're also ignoring the fact that DeBrincat is running 6+ mil against the cap, whereas Terry is 1.5, and you want him retained down to 1, and his RFA rights are intact. Terry isn't quite the player that Debribcat is, admittedly, but at 1/6 the cap hit, I'd argue he should command a higher trade value.
