Interesting Idea
I read somewhere that Habs were interested but the player was not. What would be even better if Montreal signed him then traded him to Toronto at the deadline retaining 50% so Toronto can fit him in.

Trade with FLO and One UFA
Reimer is probably a perfect as a Habs back-up who can take the load off Price, and Lindgren makes sense to move with the Habs goaltending depth. Even tho the Habs did it to themselves spending over $13M in net is crazy but they might just have to. I like Chiarot he could surprise. Gives the Habs options at the deadline where they're likely to be aggressive.

Turris Contract Solution
I don't see Montreal retaining 4 Million for three years and paying Turris 6 Million on top of that. Montreal would be better off trading Shaw for a left shot D, I like Turris and think he would do well in Montreal but the deal doesn't really make sense to me. Habs are going to be in a cap crunch in two years and this deal will kill them then. I also think Danault will be a longtime member of the Habs and transition into a penalty kill and defense specialist sort of how Plecanec did.

Ideally yes and I've seen a lot of posts suggesting Petry and a pick or B level prospect for Ghost but I know Bergevin loves Petry, plus the 15 team no trade list will likely be a factor

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Is current edition of Karlsson a good value at 10.25m even on his right side?</div></div>
Nope I think with the Habs investing so much in Price they can't afford another big contract, but for the Habs to get a chance at Karlsson signing they have to pay extra.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Do you think this puts them in contention with Boston, Tampa, and Toronto? I don’t. I think this 7 year commitment still has them 4th best in the division, so what’s the point?</div></div>
You're probably right but fact is Leafs and Tampa are going to go through some changes in order to re-sign key players, both their defenses will be different. For the better? Who knows. Habs are going to come back with almost the same team and hopefully a guy that can play top pair with Weber and help the powerplay. I think Kotkaniemi will have a great second season and put up 50 points, Drouin will be more consistent both should equal a much better powerplay. Weber will be playing from the start of the season and the Habs should have a goalie that can play 20-35 games for them which should mean 5-10 points more than last year putting them right in the mix to be a top team in the juggernaut Atlantic. That being said as we watched this year anything can happen in the playoffs so I'd be happy with the Habs just squeaking in even the I expect them to challenge for one of the three spots. Boston could have an off year after playing so much this year too, especially if they're hungover from winning.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Columbus has 0 cap problems and they don’t want your depth players and meh picks. All I was saying is maybe try offering up something a little more appealing then what you have.</div></div>
I was talking about the Preds in regards to Cap issues sorry for the confusion. Murray is on the outside looking in there now, his team doesn't believe in him anymore and CBJ has only 7 (possibly 6) out of 14 draft picks for the next two years. The Habs have 19...I was tossing in 5-7 round picks because those are usually lucky picks if one makes it but CBJ will be cap struck if they do sign a lot of UFA'S to replace their own UFA's leaving, if I were them I would trade a UFA's signing rights to restock picks, I'm sure Florida would give up some of their 17 picks to be able to talk and potentially sign Artemi and Bob to 8 year deals

I honestly don't see why their bad trades, judge me if you want, Murray wants a fresh start there's three players in the depth chart above him now and CBJ needs some picks back, if Nashville signs Duchenne then tries to move Turris, Turris has almost no value anymore since every team knows they need him gone to stay under the cap, which is where I'm at already since the Preds have been so public about going after Duchene just like Montreal

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Poehling</b></div><div>keyboard warrior ? I just said lol cause it doesnt make sense. So if you do Deslauriers for McDavid you want us to say : Hey bud, McDavid is a better player because he's faster etc ?</div></div>
Then say it doesn't make sense don't put lol which you have done on a numerous occasions to me which obviously sounds like you think my posts are joke, I'll gladly back-up my thinking on all trades but hate getting silly comments from someone who doesn't make an effort to see my way of thinking. Like I said before I'd just prefer you don't comment on my posts unless you're going to ask a serious question or give on honest answer not a quick remark just to get likes. You obviously love this website as you post on it weekly, why would you want to put down other people who are enjoying the website just like you just because you don't understand.
Just to share my way of thinking further; I hope you read my description earlier too as I mentioned a team like Nashville who wasn't happy with Turris and are trying to sign Duchene would gladly take in young depth players or cheaper players plus prospects and picks for Turris because they don't want money coming back in the deal unless they're getting an elite player which the Habs aren't going to do. It may be a low ball offer but no team is going to give up a first for Turris after that season, if they do it's a mistake. Knowing how cap struck the Preds/Bolts/Leafs/Knights/Jets are should really give the other teams the advantage in trades and allow for some one sided deals do you not agree?
So instead of the deal being just what I posted, imagine the deal being made on the basis Duchene signs there, so Nashville gets Duchenne, a second, a 4th line grinder that would likely play very little but can step up, two players that provide depth with NHL experience that come cheap and a very young prospect while only giving up a 4th pick, a player they're upgrading at the position and a low level prospect that likely wouldn't be signed back. I know it doesn't work like that at all but GM's know pretty well at the draft how good their chances are with free agent's which is why draft Day is always so busy.

Don't you think teams are going to play hard ball with cap stricken teams? Obviously you never want to help another team but when you're taking that big of contract off them(Nashville) so they can sign someone who's on obvious upgrade. In regards to Columbus, they went all in and they're going to lose three key players they're not going to be the same team, I'd maybe toss in Fleury in the deal but I don't think they'd be interested in him. Thanks for the feedback!

Don't hate it but doubtful Montreal accepts. Considering the hype around Suzuki and Montreal's commitment to getting younger and to continue build up their prospect pool the Habs won't be giving up Suzuki unless a team highly overpays

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Yes but being that it’s his restricted rights Montreal has the option to match an offer sheet if he gets one from someone else and if they don’t they’ll likely end up with 1st and 3rd. He isn’t an unrestricted free agent whom they could lose for nothing. If you really think Harrington is better then Murray you’re crazy. Murray was playing top pair with Jones till he got hurt. He’s worth WAY more then a mid 5th round pick.</div></div>
He becomes a free agent if they don't offer him a contract by July 1st, they likely will but if he declines because they low ball him due to not trusting his health as they shouldn't he'll have little value as an RFA, with Warenski and Harrington also needing contracts along with all their goalies and two key forward's one of the three left shot D will not be resigned I'm thinking it will be Murray because of his injury history as I've mentioned as well as how well Harrington played. Only playing one full season in 6 years can't give the Jacket's a lot of confidence even tho he had a career season before going down last year. Jackets will be going through a lot of changes as we know, one do the three D aren't staying, if they can afford both Warenski and Murray I'd be shocked and the Habs can go for Harrington but I bet they can only afford Warenski and Harrington

CBJ has three left shot defense all RFA's Murray hasn't been able to stay healthy ever and after Scott Harington's playoff performance I doubt they let him go, Zach Warenski isn't going anywhere. They're likely going to let Murray go to free agency anyways, trading someone's rights doesn't mean he signs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Bro, that Murray trade is laughable. He easily gets a 2nd at this point. He’s an RFA not a UFA you could lose.</div></div>

Instead of trolling every post say what you mean, I'd love to hear your side of it, in my defense I may have been up way to long and had a few too many pops. Avs trade add in Lehkonen, Canucks trade add in a future late round pick, Ottawa trade also add in a future late round pick. Dallas trade is actually close in my opinion, Shaw has lots of value yet. What were wrong with my contracts tho?

Car. GM/Owner guy said only Aho is the only one thats untradable and wants to get tougher players. I may undervalue Skinner but you have also undervalued Shaw, him getting knee surgery kinda ruins all his trade value. Pacioretty for ROR straight up isn't enough and I like Skinner but it made sense to flip for salary reasons

The cleanup - trades with VAN, CAR, ARI, MTL, DET
Gallagher is worth more to the Habs than any team. Any team would have to over pay for him. Likely act least 4 pieces such as a 1st, top four D, top 6 forward or young forward and a B level prospect. Patches value at deadline was even more than that, he's likely moved for a young center and defense plus a high draft pick

If Tavares announces he doesn't want to return before the deadline which I doubt but you never know. Islanders arena location can't help that situation. I find Leddy is underrated by the Isles. Doubt they ever trade Ho-Sang but Habs would want a young top prospect if their moving Galchenyuk and Price.
Advise, pick rangers or islanders not New York. Smh
