And yes, Matheson is worth a 1st round pick on the market right now: no question.
If you disagree, that is your opinion.
But saying that "Matheson would get a 1st round pick" is anything but outlandish.

Because of his summers in Montreal, his friendship with Caufield, the draft year that Kent Hughes (for whetver reason) seems to target... and the fact that Anaheim just drafted another (EXXCELLENT) center, got Gauthier, and with the much media-hyped harsh negociation with Zegras.

Oh... and the flock of hockey experts literally saying on every platform that Zegras may be moved and that Montreal would be a target.

So calm down. No move has been made. This is exactly the website where people try things.
No one has killed your mother and insulted you.

Try to 'decline' that single individual's proposal, but don't react as though the whole city is dumb.
Have you been to Montreal?
It's an amazing city; everyone adores it.
And it's NOT just hockey, or populated with clones of the 5 young teenagers who want to have fun posting on here and get bullied.

You haven't watched Savard play then. Period.
I'm not saying Lilegren sucks here, and if you can put your Hab-hating reflex on the side a bit, Savard has been a very solid D all season and his value is higher than you think.
He's bigger, stronger, blocks more shots than most D, and has even more points than Lilegren... on a very bad offensive team.
He has leadership for years, and is adored by everyone on the team.
This has value on the market.

Not saying anything against Lilegren here. He has high value too.

But no need to bash Savard saying 'he sucks'. He doesn't suck at all.

Now, in my opinion, the Habs would not do this trade.

The first 2 are not what I'm talking about. Monahan alone traded for Kappo and a 1st. That's not what these are.

The last one, I agree it's a bit much. There's no Kappo and a 1st as well. But I won't defend that one for sure.
That is an extremely rare occurence. I haven't seen anything like that one... so I agree with you. In every fanbases, there are outliers.
I was people offering a 5th round pick for Monahan.... with retention and a 3rd going back. And they defended it.

The overwhelming majority of Habs fans had Monahan going for either a 1st, or a 2nd+prospect. Can you agree on that?

And I will agree on the fact that some other non-Habs fans also had Monahan going for a 1st; I saw a good portion of it.

I have found NO ONE on here proposing Monahan (alone) for Kappo + a 1st. NOT ONE TRADE PROPOSAL like that. Not one.

So yes, you were wrong, Thank you for saying it. You're one of the few who has humility and balls.

And no, people were saying a 2nd round pick + Kappo. Not a 1st + Kappo.

And if you happened to find a SINGLE example, then it would not be a Habs fan (there are trolls here...), or maybe someone who doesn't know... but I have not seen ONE in the last month.
