I've seen worse deals for Larkin. It's not bad. Would love to have knies though.

Frankly, it might not be enough
Probably depends on if there’s a bidding war for him or not
The Sabres do have the pieces to win it though, should one occur
Idk that we’d do it though
My guess is that we’d bow out before we’d overpay,
but Meier could be a really nice fit for us

Sabres have the best prospect pool in nhl. You will not be getting any of devils top prospects. Also devils and Sabres 1st round pick will be about 10 spot difference.

Colorado shocks NHL at TDL
A Petey trade would probably be more like 3 firsts, Newhook & Girard to give value to Vancouver (bearing in mind it would require a significant overpay to prise Petey out), and there is no way Colorado would be taking on Garland. The hatred between MacK and him goes back a looooong way. That's also about the only way the cap would work for Colorado going forward.

The most realistic deadline done well
I’d consider a Puljujarvi as part of the return with Gavrikov, maybe it’s Gavrikov end Bemstrom for a 1st and Puljujarvi.
That being said it could be a last chance for both Bemstrom and Puljujarvi to stick in the NHL and it gives EDM some extra cap room.

More AHL guys can't hurt. With how damn injury prone the Jackets are it's always good to have guys available that can work as call ups.

A Little Shakeup For The Wakeup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>turtlemountain</b></div><div>The price on Toews is reported as a 2nd or 3rd. Jack Johnson doesn’t have much value at all, so let’s call that a 6th.

Which is why I said they won't be offering Girard, lol.
I heard a 2nd and a 3rd, but please correct me if I got that wrong. Plus the Avs will need double retention, which is another asset to a third team.
It gets kinda expensive, but if they think Toews might stick around another yearvor two on the cheap, could be worth it. I like the fit, personally, but I know others think he's done.

Probably wouldn't change it much since the AAV isn't even low. Definitely should be getting max term. If they are not confident enough to sign him past 32, then it's not worth acquiring him.

Carlo is 26 yes
I think that theres a huge differnce between picks from spot 28-32 than there is for picks 20-24 especially in this deep draft.
Ill agree with you on Carlo here so if we took him out of my trade proposal what else would the bruins be willing to add. Because Lysell, 1st, and fourth could be beaten and probably will.</div></div>
No guarantee that the pick will be between 28-32. Pretty much everyone trading for this caliber rental will have almost as good a shot at being in that group.

His value is not there rn. Good time to trade for him but bad time to trade him. Vancouver would probably consider like I said the 1 for 1 just because they are wanting to move on from him. Last year Boeser would have been worth this for sure though so you were not super far off.</div></div>
Thanks! I am terrible at knowing values. But wondered if there may be something here if the cap worked for both teams.

I think the thing with Knies is his ceiling is so high but I think his floor is way lower than most think. If he hits his potential and fits in the top 6, that's huge to have a 30 goal scoring power forward. But I think it's an equal chance he becomes a capable but not very productive 3rd liner. Minten I see being Kampf but also will have seasons of 60-70 points with Selke nominations. He already looked NHL good defensively at training camp. Had he not hurt his wrist I bet he really would have turned heads. Dubas wanted him in the first round but felt he would still be there at 13 picks later. He dumped Mrazek for Minten!

Dubas isn't interested in trading a 1st and two prospects for a couple of rentals. If Horvat comes with an extension then maybe, but Meier would be a better fit on this team.</div></div>
Disagree, I think he very much would trade a late first, 1 promising looking prospect and 1 prospect who more than likely wont be an NHLer for a top 6 forward. Why wouldnt he? No brainer to me. Doesnt even have to lose their best prospect or meaningful roster players. Major upgrade to your scoring for the playoffs. Really hed be stupid not to at this price.

If Horvat wants 8 million a year, or even a little more, then the Leafs could make it work. The question is do they want Horvat? He plays a similar, offensive-minded game as the core four. The Leafs desperately need a power forward who can play more physical, and Horvat doesn't fit that description.
I think Colorado or Carolina would be better landing spots for Horvat.

Devils trade for Timo and eat his qualifying offer
Welcome to CapFriendly. Sometimes, it's not too friendly.
One of the reasons why this would be a poor strategy is that Timo Meier turns 27 during the 2023-2024 season, so a one-year contract makes him an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2024.

I would think the prospects would be more important for EDM since they are up against the cap and are going to need affordable talent coming through the pipeline as soon as possible. But, I think either way works.
