3. He wasn't ever listed as trade bait so I don't think Vegas was shopping him (IE last minute trading him)
"If Fleury had positive value why was he dumped" It's all on the situation my dude</div></div>
Or he doesn't actually have positive value so they traded him for a LTIR contract instead of trading him for a mid round pick. Trading him for a pick is way more preferable than taking on a LTIR contract for a few years. That seems way more plausible than "it was last minute or teams didn't want to help" lol.

If he had positive value why didn't they just trade him for picks?

Senators love big players. They drafted Boucher with a top 10 pick last year over Sillinger. If Cutter isn't there at 7 I wouldn't be surprised for the Sens to take Geekie. I think he's gonna go higher than people expect.

If the Sabres do trade for PLD this would probably be the cost
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmyjets</b></div><div>A lot closer to what the cost would be but I'd still rather keep PLD. Eichel demanded a trade which would have brought the market down some where PLD has not.
Also you'd need to beat out Montreal who I'm sure would push their way to the front of the pack for a French-Canadian 1C that is big, rugged and handsome. He's their absolute wet dream. I would expect 1st overall would be on the table for PLD and I'd rather have that than 3 good pieces.</div></div>
Eichel was already signed though. PLD is not. He can technically walk in 2 years. He'd have to agree to a long term deal with any team that trades for him. That limits his market quite a bit.

Still way too much. PLD's contract situation would limit his value. It would probably look like when we traded for ROR.

Buffalo Sabres signed Isak Rosén (3 Years / $1,450,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AndrewLadd</b></div><div>4 points in 28 SHL games doesn’t scream greatness. I mean he could turn out to be good, anyone could. Still a huge reach imo, even tho the 2021 draft was historically weak anyway</div></div>
He was getting about 7 minutes a game. Similar situation with Aatu Raty when he was on Karpat. Hard to produce when you don't get any ice time.
Wasn't even a huge reach either. Pretty much everyone had him ranked in the teens / early 20s. McKenzie had him at 18.

Pettersson will be 27 & Zibs will be 33 + Lindholm will be 31. I think Pettersson will be better than both by that time.

Wrong about what?
23 year old ROR (.72PPG) last 3 years = 31st pick + Zadorov + Grigorenko + Compher
23 year old PLD (.66PPG) last 3 years = 9th pick / Cozens ++
How does that make any sense?

Pastrnak isn't a RD
The market for RD is absurd. Risto got the 13th pick. It's not really comparable.

Yea but rentals don't get top 5 picks. He'd probably just get the usual package for a top tier rental. He's got a NTC too though, so he'd still get to have some say.

So, if we can get Pasta to say he will only extend in Jersey, it’s a fitting comp.</div></div>
That's the thing. Any team trading for him would have to be a team Pasta wants to sign with. That kills a lot of the value in a trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>A garbage package they everyone knew from day 1 that OTT got fleeced on</div></div>
That's how the market is for players in this situation. Any team trading for him has to sign him to a huge extension + Pasta has to want to sign with that team. That limits the amount of trade partners. That's why the Stone return wasn't great.

2nd overall is way too much for a guy that's a rental. Even with an extension attached it's too much.

Adams blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jets1pt0</b></div><div>I said to the original offer at least include the Sabres 1st (not Vegas'). Realistically, the Jets need to compete NOW so the ask would start with Cozens, someone that can play top 6 immediately. Did not say Cozens AND the Buffalo 1st though the 1st should also be on the table.</div></div>
The whole trade hinges on Winnipeg not being able to work out a contract with Dubois. Similar to the situation with ROR & Colorado that I referenced. You wouldn't get either the 9th pick or Cozens in that scenario.

6x5!? who the hell is gonna give him that lmao
Realistically probably somewhere around the Ullmark deal. Campbell hasn't played great & long enough as a starter to get 6M for 5 years,
