Vancouver Canucks signed Andrei Kuzmenko (2 Years / $5,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MatthewsFan</b></div><div><div class="tweet"><blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">What the hell are the Canucks doing? This team has no sense of direction. Kuz is a solid player but he turns 27 in a couple of weeks and has 47 games of NHL experience. His 21 goals are cool but he's riding a 24.7% shooting percentage and could have been a prime trade piece. <a href="https://t.co/CKcgrc138f" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">https://t.co/CKcgrc138f</a></p>— Tony Ferrari (@theTonyFerrari) <a href="https://twitter.com/theTonyFerrari/status/1618683315674030080?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">January 26, 2023</a></blockquote>

I look forward to seeing him continue his 24% shooting percentage</div></div>
Y'know I never understood the games played argument. Teams sign based on what the player will do during the contract, not what he has done, plus he was a star player in the KHL for years. It was the same argument with Kirill Kaprizov, and he's already destroyed the Wild's single season records and will eventually break more
Maybe there's some truth to this, but I don't see it

good value for the sign, but Vancouver is merely treading water atm, they cannot commit to winning or losing for a purpose, and this is going to be seen as a catalyst for this
Good sign, but awful timing
Wonder if this signing is to try to get people to forget the bruce boudreau situation

Minnesota Wild signed Matthew Boldy (7 Years / $7,000,000 AAV)
It's a touch expensive for the buyout years, but Boldy is going to be one of the leagues best in 3-4 years. This is going to age beautiful.
Only problem is that the next two are going to be a struggle with the cap already, and this won't help
I don't care about the next two because this is going to age like Wine.

(MIN/STL) - Bitten for Stevens
i doubt anyone is going to see this comment, however
since Bitten has been called up to the NHL and may make his debut soon here enough, and Stevens didn't resign and currently is playing without an NHL contract..
it's fair to say St. Louis won this deal

(NYR/MIN) - Reaves for 2025 5th
Oh my god you paid to bring Ryan Reeves in
You lost Rem Pitlick on waivers, you lost Tyson Jost on waivers
And now you pay to bring an old forward who can't score to a team that needs to score
What are you doing Bill???
Stop overpaying for grit and intangibles

Kids gonna be good, he's definitely got the talent, it's only a question of when he's going to enter the league
For my money, he probably spends a year with Manitoba, but he could join early

please stay on topic, all, and be halfway decent people too
and remember, no one is going to change their mind by being called a moron

I'll throw in my two cents, I understand what he did and that it isn't acceptable
But that's in the past, it's done. He went to court and he did his civic duty and whatnot
Now we treat him as a hockey player, not an issue to discuss
That being said, he probably needs some time to develop, so we'll have to see how this pick turns out but for now
Good sign, former first rounder signed for 2 way max is fair
