"I don’t feel like I’m at the top of my game. I’m struggling with it right now," Liljegren said. "I’m trying to grind through it and hopefully find my groove again."
“He’s a guy we talk about daily in terms of needing and wanting more out of him”
Oh yeah, he looks ready!</div></div>
I feel like for the last 3 years Liljegren has supposed to have a “big jump” in development and year after year he returns the same soft defenceman.
He’s almost 25 he’s entering the prime athletic peak of his career, young doesn’t get to be an excuse for him anymore

I don’t think Dallas will even consider moving Johnston.
I know Dallas is somewhat of an all in team but they shouldn’t be moving pieces like Johnston/Bourqe/Stankoven/Bischel who can extend their cup contention post Pavelski/Seguin/Benn era
They also don’t have the cap.

If they trade Eberly and they don't play Wright next season, they should package him with a 1st to PIT for Guentzel</div></div>
Why would they move wright for a rental?
Wright has been starting to play very well in the AHL and the potential of beniers and wright solidifying their top 6 centers for the next 15 years is to hard to give up on

Bruins offseason cap situation
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I could see that as a possibility, although I think the bruins would lack some leverage in this scenario that could lower the return (needing cap space to fill other major holes).
If Ullmark returned a 1st I’d say “yeah, reasonable enough”
If Ullmark returned a 2nd I’d say “yeah, reasonable enough”</div></div>
When did we lose leverage and what “major” holes do we have?
We lost Bergeron/Krejci/ Hall/ Bertuzzi/Clifton/ Orlov/Nosek/Hathaway now that’s a lot of holes
And we are still tied for 1st in the league, that many loses would end most franchises!
Would a true 1C be nice? Yes of course
Would another 20+ minute LHD be nice? Yea for sure
Would 3 more 20-30 goal scoring forwards make me happy? Ya what fan wouldn’t be.
But…. Bruins have proved they don’t need all those shiny items to win games.
Bruins have always and will always be a TEAM
Score by committee
Defence by committee
Win by committee
The year Boston won their cup their leading scorers tied for 62 points/ the league leader had 104 and we beat his team.
Sometimes depth and finding players who gel well together leads to more success than a bunch of “all-stars”.
Sweeney isn’t gonna sell low on a goalie who just won a vezina and has still be very solid this season, he’s a smart GM if people don’t want him for fair price now he’ll make you double your price at TDL when other GM’s get really desperate because they didn’t address their goalie situation earlier.

Can’t see the bruins moving Beecher, he’s big/ fast/ strong, great on the draws for a younger guy. He’s an ideal 4C.
I don’t think him being sent down was based on skill I think it was to do with cap. Ever since he has left we have been missing his defensive presence/ FO win%/ and the amount of relief he gave to coyle on having to take majority of defensive zone draws

I can’t see bruins taking anything less than a 1st. Not really any big/ team changing UFA goalies this season with a lot of PO capable teams in need of a true starter.
LA/ Carolina/ NJ/ Detroit/ Buffalo/ Seattle all those teams want to compete some more than others, someone will cough up a 1st.
I expect him to get the same return as Darcy kuemper did with 1yr left.

I wouldn’t say it’s hole at top 4 LHD I think they just need to give Lohrei more time in the NHL. I could see the finding like a 2A/2B type defender for Lohrei to ease him in a little easier.
As much as I would love hanifin or Chychrun it’s really not something we desperately need.
Dillon/ OEL/ Gost make more sense to me.
Skjei and Forsling I want to stay away from I think they will get overpaid.
Debrusk I feel will have to keep up the pace he’s at all season to demand 6.5 mill.
I’d say 5.25-5.75 is more his price range, Tippett who got 6.2 has been more dynamic and a better offensive threat and the league has always paid goal scorers more then 2 way players.

Sell the Rest Flames
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Duggysdanglers</b></div><div>look at the pkg for Lindholm. NH is a pretty important player.</div></div>
LHD isn’t a premium in the NHL.
2 way RH Center is, especially one that should fit tocchets system very well. Also it was very clear tocchet didn’t like Kuzemko because he didn’t backcheck/forecheck nothing, he was looked at as a cap dump with the chance of having a comeback in Calgary.
Hunter B is a very good offensive dman but his defence is terrible and will need a lot of work before he will ever make to the NHL.
Joni jurmo isn’t much of a prospect and would be lucky to become a 7th dman.
The 1st is gonna be very late and the 4th/3rd is a throw in.
In Vancouvers offer there is no bourqe like prospect the kid is top 3 in AHL points and will more than likely be in the NHL next season.
Liam Bischel’s style of play is much more likely to get him into the NHL than hunters. Giant defensive dman that need to develop their offence more have a much better chance of making the league than small offensive dman that need to work on their defence. Bischel should be a comparable dman to Oleksiak one day.
1st+2nd > 1st+Jurmo+ conditional 4th

Doesn’t really matter calgary has no leverage
1. Hanifin declined your 8x8.5 mill contract offer which is ridiculous because he won’t get that on the open market
2. He’s already said he doesn’t want to play in canada anymore and wants to go back to the states.
Chychrun is the most similar dman to be moved recently…. But Chychrun was on a 4.6 mill by 3 year contract so he had term, was younger and wasn’t in a contract year. Even then chych didn’t get the return everyone thought he would

Massive overpay for hanifin.
Bourqe is killing it in AHL
Bischel aswell has adjusted to NA ice pretty solid so far.
Remove those 2 I think Dallas might consider but they need RHD much more and a defensive dman, Tanev is a better fit

Buddy just declined 8.5 mill he ain’t taking no discount for pitsburgh.
Pitsburgh would be lucky to get even close to what lindholm returned.
Center is much more of a premium than winger and lindholm is 2 way reliable

If the bruins were to have a deal in place for an upgrade and they need to clear cap then I’d accept this deal but I feel bruins would be able to include grzelcyk as a cap filler in the deal with any of the current players they have been linked to.
Hanifin and lindholm have been the big ones and Calgary stills needs to be able to dress a team after their big sell so I could see them easily taking back grzelcyk

My friend, watch at least one Ceci game and at least once bother to look at Ceci's statistics to argue that this is a cap reset. You show absolute ignorance of the basic concepts of the game if you come to such absurd statements.</div></div>
Every single ACGM I’ve seen has the oilers moving Ceci for an upgrade, clearly there is a common theme that oilers are fine parting ways with ceci. If ceci was anything worse keeping he wouldn’t be included in these trades as a cap casualty.
Lindholm returns a 1st+ Tanev returns a 1st
You have offered a 20 yr old prospect that’s under .5ppg in the AHL and will be quite a bit down Calgary’s depth chart for young wingers. Akey is a decent young dman but at best projects to be a #4 dman but for a puck moving offensively minded dman you’d want to see a higher point production in the OHL which is high scoring Junior
Ever since pitsburgh he’s always been overplayed and that’s shown with his team’s success playing him 20 minutes a night<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ural740811</b></div><div>What are you talking about?

2 1sts
Broberg or Holloway
Ceci for cap reasons
Akey or Bourgeault
Is the minimum for Lindholm and Tanev
With Calgary retaining 4.675 mill.
-You are ignoring factors like Calgary can probably get better returns selling each player separate.
- Edmonton is a div rival and Calgarys biggest rival they will pry out the max value they can
As for Ceci
Never has had a WAR above 40%
EV defence hovers around the 60th percentile
EV offence around 20th percentile
PK percentile has him well below average since joining Edmonton
He’s a turnover machine.
His GF/GA differential has barely been even or negative for most his career
His Corsi is below 46%
It has always been stated that teams have always overplayed him and he’s not a 20 minute a night defenceman.
Yes he may block shots and yes he may hit but those stats have to been taken with a grain of salt at time. Rasmus Ristolainen Blocked lots of shots and hit a ton, usually was top of the league in both those categories but he was a defensive liability.
Cody Ceci has his Highs but his Lows are much more detrimental, he’s inconsistent and that’s the bottom line

Where’s the value for Lindholm?
If you think a late 1st, Aket, Bourgeault and ceci who is a cap dump + a 5th is enough to strip your biggest rival of Lindholm (twice retained) + Tanev (50% retained) you are very wrong.
For lindholm and Tanev Calgary will bleed you dry.

Probably Ottawa. Pulock is more of a need for Ottawa than chych is for NYI.
