Sujet: Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>A it wouldn't be a rental if they traded for him they would be resigning him.

B. I don't think they are that high up on Wright. He was passed over this year, I'm surprised he didn't ask for a trade. They brought in an aging slowed down Tatar instead of giving him a roster spot.
Spare me the development age ..... they played Matty even younger. They just don't trust him is all there was to that situation. Why else would they find 20 games for 1 goal Andre B but not give Wright a legit chance. That just doesn't make sense for a team on the bubble of getting into the playoffs that needs help. Not unless your coach and GM don't want to win.

So I wouldn't go to hard on the Top 6 centers for next 15 years. If they had faith in him he'd be there now. I have a feeling he's going to end up asking out if they keep passing over him. They are costing him money and what they are playing over him frankly isn't that good. He should already be playing above at least 3 players there in Tatar, Yanni, and Andre B. You can even make the argument Kartye jumped him.</div></div>

So because Matty Beniers was playing well in the NHL at age 19, the new rule of thumb is that if a guy doesn't crack the NHL roster by age 19 then the team needs cut bait on the player? Good god, man, get a grip!

Also, why wouldn't you play your developing 20 year old on the NHL team? You might be right that they don't trust him, but he is developing. You don't develop as fast when you are constantly getting benched in close games and averaging 7 minutes TOI a night. You develop when you are building your confidence by regularly getting points while playing 15+ minutes a night. And if he wants to make more money, then he needs to make sure he is doing everything he can to earn his spot.

Like I said, you might be right that they might not be high on him. But cutting bait on a #4 overall pick when he is only 20 years old is a more fireable offense for a GM than making a bad pick in a draft year that was particularly crapshoot-y. There is no rush to trade a young guy on an ELC.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dekes</b></div><div>I can’t see bruins taking anything less than a 1st. Not really any big/ team changing UFA goalies this season with a lot of PO capable teams in need of a true starter.

LA/ Carolina/ NJ/ Detroit/ Buffalo/ Seattle all those teams want to compete some more than others, someone will cough up a 1st.

I expect him to get the same return as Darcy kuemper did with 1yr left.</div></div>

And even if they don’t, one more year with great goaltending and then Ullmark’s cap slot being allocated to a Frederic extension is not a terrible thing. It does require the emergence of young talents like Poitras and Lysell, but probably willing to take that bet

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dgibb10</b></div><div>I could see that as a possibility, although I think the bruins would lack some leverage in this scenario that could lower the return (needing cap space to fill other major holes).

If Ullmark returned a 1st I’d say “yeah, reasonable enough”
If Ullmark returned a 2nd I’d say “yeah, reasonable enough”</div></div>

The off-season goalie market doesn’t look good and there are more good teams with bad goalie situations where I think something could happen. My guess is if a second is the best that is being offered, he’s being traded to the Western Conference. If it’s NJ acquiring him, I’d expect a first or a prospect like Holtz / later pick.

The only circumstance where I see him going to NJD for a second is if both Lindholm and Hanifin make it clear, it’s Boston and they need to clear his slot. It would require stupidity from other teams trying to leverage rather than trade

Part of me wonders if LA would be open to a big deal involving PLD and Ullmark. Hes been disappointing there and they’ve returned back to earth.

Also, I do think the extension eligibility may open Ullmark up to other teams hoping to avoid doing the Korpisalo
