Kuempfer for one. Kessel for another. Stepan, Hjalmarsson, Goligoski and Demers are others. Lots of salary for them to move out if they want to, they don't HAVE to move out OEL.

And this trade does not help them save money at all. They are retaining for the next 8 years (which nobody is going to do) and taking one a lot of your dead money. That's not what they are looking for. I get you're a Canucks fan, but let's be objective here.

I also think you've made it extremely difficult to re-sign Hughes and Petterson next year, which should be top priority for Vancouver rather than overpaying more UFA's this year.

That is peanuts for OEL. Eriksson + 1st essentially cancel, so its OEL for Rathbone + Tryamkin. If that's all it takes to bring in a top 2 defenseman, then you take it and run.

it is a bad deal. Kuemper is better, cheaper cap hit, under more term. Those factors make him more valuable than Andersen. The coyotes also already have 2 goalies under contract for next season if they do trade kuemper, so im sure they're not actively seeking a goalie swap so andersen really has no value to them. A first rounder is the asking price for kuemper, and im sure the yotes wont take less considering hes their best trade asset.
