Remember ROR? Selke candidate? Playoffs MVP? Yeah totally never had a guy like that ever lol do you watch hockey? LMFAO</div></div>
ROR wasn't a 3C. He was either 1C or 2C. Our 3C was a huge hole in the lineup for those rosters. Mostly 4th liners playing in that spot. Center depth has been an issue for the entire drought. At least know a little about the teams before embarrassing yourself even more.

Cirelli is good lmao. He's a perennial Selke candidate that played a huge part in the cup runs. You realize not everything is box scores right?
Do you watch hockey?
Lol yes. You said Krebs could become a junior version of him like that is some impossible task that’s he’s achieving. Like being a 40p solid defensive center isn’t overly difficult. Eller played a massive role in winning a cup but I sure as FK hope McM develops to become much better than him.</div></div>
Yes a younger version of a guy that played a huge role in a team that went to 3 cups in a row. I'm keeping that over a 2nd round pick that has about a 30% chance of becoming an NHL player lmao.
"Like being a 40p solid defensive center isn’t overly difficult." Damn that easy to be a perennial selke candidate that excels on the PK & is a pest. We've been looking for a guy like that for 10+ years now.

He's slotted as the likely 3C next year. Very good defensively. No way would we trade a 22 year old center who looks like he could become Cirelli Jr. for a 2nd round pick lmao.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DogDayCaps2</b></div><div>I assume they run Cozen mittelstadt and Jost as their 1-3c so if they could get a decent pick for Krebs that would be a plus.</div></div>
Well for starters Tage is the 1C. Cozens is the 2C. Mitts has been playing wing majority of the season. Jost might not even be on the team next year or will be on the 4th line.

All in youth Meatballs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>It’s probably time he move on, and he’s not good defensively, but that was never his game. Now that Buffalo’s top 6 is pretty well settled and he’s not in it there should be another team he’d fit with. He’s still an elite shooter who can reliably score 20+ goals next year without fail, and close to 30 if he’s playing with a playmaker. I felt a lot of his offense this year was overmatching his 3rd line opponents. Since the Sabres have offensive depth now teams no longer key on him. Giving him away would be a mistake.</div></div>
He's just not good enough offensively to be in any top 6 of a team trying to win games. An elite shooter should have scored at least 30 goals once in his career. He did have a playmaker when he was stapled to Eichel's line. He's an extremely streaker shooter who will have 6 goals in a week and have 0 goals for 2 months. He's just kind of a one trick pony who sits in the same spot. That's just not worth 4.75M.
'Giving him away would be a mistake" I don't think so. I'd be ecstatic with a 2nd round pick. He's a negative to the team on the ice. You gotta cut off the dead weight. With how little minutes he's played recently + healthy scratches Donny seems to think the same.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tjm220</b></div><div>He is a perennial 25 to 30 goal scorer (and 50 point player) who contrary to popular opinion is no longer powerplay dependent. If that’s not worth a late first at less than $2.5 million cap hit for you Buffalo should find a team that will pay that price. Just because no one on this website happens to like him doesn’t mean that no one in the league sees his value.</div></div>
Maybe if you ignore everything negative about his game. He's been on the ice for 52 goals against 5v5 compared to his 31 goals for. He hurts your team more than he helps. There's a reason why he has the worst +/- and no other forwards are even close. He's terrible defensively. Not physical at all. Brings down his linemates (Mitts is totally different player away from him). Granato has healthy scratched him multiple times.
Nobody is gonna pay the price because they actually watch him play.

A trade from the Canes would be a high 1st & Rosen tier prospect. That's not even that different from this offer.

What is the cutoff for the modern NHL? Orpik was on the cup team 5 years ago...
Plenty of active guys on recent good teams. Adam Pelech, Brandon Carlo, Ryan Lindgren, Siegenthaler, Brodin, Tanev, . Defensive d men are definitely not a dying breed lol.
Samuelsson has 15 points in 80 games for his career. 10-20 points a year is pretty much where he's at. Again we're paying him to be a shutdown partner for Dahlin not so he can rack up secondary assists on the PP.

I completely disagree. Defensive d men play a huge part in great teams. Erik Cernak, Hjalmarsson, Brooks Orpik etc.. You can look at every stanley cup team and they have a guy like him.
He makes life a lot easier for Dahlin who is coincidentally having a norris caliber season.

Adams doesn't like rushing guys. I'm not expecting anyone to be up next year. Quinn & Peterka were full timers at 21. Rosen is 19, Savoie is 19, Kulich is 18, Ostlund is 18. Those guys are probably a few years away from being full timers. At that time Garland's deal will be expiring.

This thread is hilarious. Why even comment about a player if you know nothing about them. So many comments about his points or that he's a 3rd pair d man.
A top pair defensive d man making 4.2M for the next 7 years what a steal.

Not my assertions. I said based on Stricklands reporting. St. Louis was interested. Tkachuk liked St. Louis. The only 3 teams that were reportedly interested were St.Louis, Florida, and Carolina.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>In short order, no I don't think he cares (much) about Calgary, though he wouldn't be doing this exercise if he wasn't trying to make it easy for CGY. As for leaving money on the table, absolutely he cares about that. He's a pro hockey player and the son of a pro hockey player. It's ALL ABOUT the money. Gaudreau admitted he blew it by taking the Flames to the wire. Had he made it clear a few months ago that he would go the the market, there are teams that would have asked to trade for his negotiation rights. He would have been able to secure an 8-year deal for a lot more money. Instead, he ended up with just two offers — NJ and Columbus — that were both well below the $10.5 x 8 that Calgary reportedly offered. He said he has no regrets, but acknowledged that his indecision cost him a fortune. And I don't know your financial situation, but I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't give a sh*t about leaving $15M on the table.</div></div>
It's not all about the money. If that's all Chucky cared about he'd sign a 8 year 10M+ offer from Calgary. They could likely offer him the most money out of everyone. Chucky not wanting to resign and Strickland saying he wants St.Louis shows it's not about the money. Strickland is very connected to the Tkachuk family. He was the first one to call BS on the Tkachuk package for Eichel when Weekes said it. Anything he says regarding Tkachuk is not bs.
Johnny G was literally offered 8x10.5M and turned it down to take 7x9.75M from Columbus. That's 16M less. If money was the most important thing he would've just taken the offer from Calgary.
