geno to wild, also signed stammer, cause why not
Malkin to the wild work's and could benefit both teams but the return on your proposal is off.
One of Coyle or Granlund (replacement C)
One of Brodin or Dumba (capable top 4 dman)
RFA rights to Zucker (borderline top 6 LW, but my gel with Crosby)
2016 1st round pick.
You could even add Plus a B level prospect on the Wild end. And that's being realistic.
The idea of Malkin to the Wild is great. But the return has to be worth it to Pittsburgh. Malkin is an elite number 1C, and he would have some good line options with the Wild.

Like Malkin?
Realistically though, if the pens can upgrade their D, get a legitimate top line LW and a replacement C in a deal it might be worth considering.
I wouldn't consider Zucker a legitimate top 6 LW in a deal for a Malkin type player. And I am a Zucker fan.

Yeah, just trying something different. Obviously this much change won't happen. But with saying that could the pens become a better and deeper team if Malkin and Kunitz were moved? I think so. Malkin is a general talent a legitimate number 1 center, what could the Pens get for him? Can they get a top line LW to play with Sid, plus a 2/3C and solid futures?
The pens are built N/S strong and having success, why not continue to build on it with players who fit the system the Pens are playing.

Teuvo to PIT
I like it. Pretty good pens hawks trade. Both still on an ECL. And both with good ceilings. Nice.

Maybe add the RFA RIGHTS to ZUCKER to the Malkin deal. Good proposal.

Trying to make a 3 line scoring team work....
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mhockey91</b></div><div><i>ThIs is awesome</i></div></div>
Thanks. I wanted to try and create a realistic roster that continues to focus on speed. While giving Crosby, Malkin and Kessel their own lines. This gives the pens 3 lines that can drive possession and force teams to match off.
I'll give a quick break down on my forward line.
Line 1: Zucker has his flaws and is coming off a dissapointing season. He has plenty of speed and has proven capable of putting up points. Looking at his play style I think he would mesh well as a natural LW on line 1.
Line 2: I wanted to give Malkin his own line. KUNITZ is still a good player and putting up decent points however he seems to be neutralizing Sid. Moving him and a pick for Colin Wilson adds size, speed and a strong 2 way player. He can double as a center if needed but would look nice on Malkin's LW. Adding the youth and skill of Sprong to the right side could work well. Overall I like this line. It's a decent combination of skill but with a little 2 way presence.
Line 3: Has been very good for the pens. I don't see a reason in splitting it up. Kessel has good chemistry with Bonino and Hagelin. Forces teams to think of more than Crosby and Malkin's line.
Line 4: Played together and when together they were noticeable in a good way. Strong 2 way presence. Forcing turnovers with their speed and attack. The kids have been impressive and Cullen has been a great addition.

What about Schwartz and Fabbri plus for Malkin. Pens need a capable center coming back.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zbaddest</b></div><div><i>Malkin is always injured, and zibanejad is supposed to be a first line centre. I don't get what's not to like in the deal, Ottawa gives their most skilled forward in Hoffman, their most defensive dman in methot, and a first round pick, all for an elite centre, I think it's more than fair</i></div></div>
Methot is good. But isn't a necessity for the pens. It's not close to getting Malkin.
The pens are currently playing a style that revolves around speed and puck movement. Hoffman would be a nice addition but would need to be signed and it's still unknown what his camp would be asking for.
The pens would also need a 2C coming back as trading Malkin leaves a big hole. So either Turris or Zibanejad. Plus.... Malkin is a legitimate first line center and a game changer as mentioned above he's elite.

Malkin to the Blues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TrickyBeans66</b></div><div><i>I appreciate that you put thought into the trades before posting. That's a lot more than what most people seem to do here. Throw sh*t at the wall and see what sticks.
Overall I don't think your trade is too off after reading how you have it working for both teams. As a partial Pens fan, I think it'd be hard to lose Malkin, but at the right price, as you may have come up with, I think it could be possible. I think it could work out in the end. But I'm sure someone will come on here and just tear into it without giving any real thought.</i></div></div>
Thanks. Looking at some of the trades that are posted, I agree with you.
A lot of it comes down to finding a trade that works. And that benefits both teams involved. Is Malkin worth more, maybe. But there is also no doubting the potential benefits it this trade from a Pens prospective, a first line LW that plays to the pens current style, a second line centre on an ECL with the potential to be a 60 point player for the Pens and a second round pick (it is what it is). Schwartz is also an RFA.
In reality could there be an added pick or prospect on the blues side going to the Pens, sure, or a roster player for cap reasons. It's definitely possible. Overall I think it's a fairly realistic trade that benefits both teams.
Now from a St. Louis point of view, a legitimate franchise first line center in his prime. I don't think there is anyone that wouldn't want to see what Malkin and Vladimir Tarasenko could do together, I think that could be magic. The Blues could run a 1, 2 punch of Malkin and Stastny down the middle. Add Steen to the mix and that's the makings of a very good top 6.

Malkin to the Blues
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div><i>St Louis has cap problems (as do many teams). Adding Malkin would cause a lot of juggling to the Blues lineup.</i></div></div>
St. Louis is in the position where they could make a trade like this. They have some contracts coming off the books at the end of this year, plus having Schwartz involved in the trade.
Overall, I gave these trades a lot of thought before posting them. The main focus on is the St. Louis trade. The pens have formed an identity of playing a fast game. Adding Schwartz, finally solidifies the top line left wing along side Crosby.
Fabbri is a potential 60 point center, on an ECL. And could be a good fit in between Haglin and Kessel. It provides some added skill and youth to the top 6.
Plus adding a 2nd round pick and cap space.
I left the D pretty much as is, they have played well as or late and keeping Pouliot in the mix while adding a defensive prospect.
The bottom 6 I left as is with the addition of Sprong on the 3rd line right wing. And Kunitz moving down (I don't think it's realistic not to have him on a roster for next year).
Overall I think it's a very decent roster. Top line improved, some added youth and cap space. Another forward and D prospect and it gives the pens 3 2nd round pick this year.

I think Killorn would fit well on Crosby's leftwing. Left had shot and versatile. I honestly like that deal and the fit when looking at the Pens roster.
As for the defence. There is always the option of a Cole for Franson swap. Or something along those lines.
A lot of it depends on how the Pens organization view Pouliot, do they see him as a long term viable solution to the top 4 or could he be someone moved in a bigger deal. Personally, I like Sami Vatanen a Dumo-Vatanen pairing could be real good. Right hand shot and a great puck mover.
Bonino is also someone that could be moved in the right deal. He can be replaced internal.</i></div></div>
Am gonna try to make a roster revolving around your trades plus a trade for Vatanen just to see how it looks.</i></div></div>
I like it.

PENS.
I like the game Russell plays. Solid in his own end and a contributor up front a very good smooth skater. I think he would be a solid addition to the pens D.
The pens are loaded on the right side and short on LW the addition of Matteau adds size and grit to the bottom 6, plus 2 years at 600, he is a natural LW that plays hard.
Overall a very solid lineup.
With all the lineups being posted. I think Sid's north south game fits better with Kessel. The speed both posses would be crazy together.
