Flaming Dipping Toews
So Chicago is getting a bad contract and giving up Toews with half retention for a second and a third?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Real_MC_Hockey</b></div><div>He will score at least 40 points after years of surgeries to get better…not a camp dump. Monny was a 6th overall pick and is top 3 in scoring in his draft class lifetime…and Hanifin was 5th overall and verify solid and big.</div></div>
Then keep him. Why get rid of such a great player for old man toews?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ledge_And_Dairy</b></div><div>Considering Toews has full control of where he goes (I would guess Western Canada) that's a very good deal when you factor in his recent results. Hall got a 2nd and Anders Bjork in the same situation Moanhan can be flipped at the deadline with again 50% retention</div></div>
Make it a first if the hawks are taking Monahans cap dump or no half retention

They just traded a 24 year old superstars. They ain't about to trade for older players that aren't as good. Calgary gets laughed at with this offer

Edmonton Oilers signed Kailer Yamamoto (2 Years / $3,100,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PointStamkosVasilevskiy219188</b></div><div>I actually think Barrie would be easier to move given that he brings more to the market value (because of his slightly above-average offense for a blue-liner) than Foegele
I think Barrie could fetch a 4th rounder on the market, I can't see Foegele earning more than a 6th
DET (as you pointed out) needs to get rid of a forward, maybe they swap one for Barrie? (But I do think it'll be Foegele that EDM moves)</div></div>
Issue is not many teams need Dman and the ones that do need a LD more so than a RD (SEA for instance) and there will be other teams needing to move Dman so that market will be to competitive to get Barrie out. Plus lets be real Barrie's numbers are exaggerated a bit mainly through being on a PP with Mcdavid and Draisaitl and teams probably know this and wont be thrilled about that
As we have seen so far moving a forward in a cap dump has been easier than a Dman
Like lets be real I dont think Barrie would give the same kind of production with Arizona than he would with Edmonton. And 4.5mill x 2 years in a flat cap is a tough pill to swallow for what he brings
But for Foegele 2.75mill is not only easier but also you wont have to give up much to move him heck might not to give anything to dump him. Could do a Foegele for Carcone kind of trade where one team gets the better player and the other moves out cap and gets a 4th line/pressbox guy

The Flames seem to have no leverage when it comes to moving Tkachuk, so I can’t imagine they’d get that much if they move him before the season.
Also Dubé almost certainly won’t be returning to the NHL.

That is an absolute garbage take. Dallas is doing perfectly fine, and there's no real offer sheet threat as DAL is able to match any offer EDM or anyone else would muster.
Their contract situation isn't even close to as bad people seem to think.

Giving it a try
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Yeah we’re pretty far off in evaluations here. Trouba’s market value is somewhere between Risto and Jones in a trade. It’s more than Gavrikov even with an extension. Some would say the difference is more than the value of Robinson.
Lindgren for Rosy is pretty even.
Makes sense for you guys tbh. You fix your RHD issues, Lindgren does everything Gavi does while being younger and has team control. Copp gives you a 2C that can actually play D and does everything Rosy can do offensively. A pretty clear upgrade there.</div></div>
Yeah, but, how many people out here are applauding the received value of the Risto or Jones trade? 😂
That’s my point here - Trouba doesn’t really do anything for us. He’s a RD, sure, but I don’t necessarily buy him as the Top-Pairing guy that would change the make-up of our blue line. He’s getting paid $8M, but playing more like a $5M-$6M guy. Giving anything in value for him alone that is even within the ballpark of the Jones trade is a waste.

Sure, we need RD moving forward
But Barrie isn’t a guy we can pair with Dahlin or Power
We need someone more defensively responsible
And i can’t imagine we’d pay a 3rd to have him on our 3rd pair
That just doesn’t make much sense when we can get 3rd pair defensemen for much cheaper
Try Ottawa or Arizona, etc

Selling UFAs and a Hockey Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RpMReloaded</b></div><div>I think Buffalo would do that trade, assuming that no one would give up a 3rd straight up. No interest in dumping Koskinen/acquiring Hagg?</div></div>
Koskinen can be a solid goalie when run in a proper tandem hopefully Anderson fills the role better then Smith has this year.
As for Hagg, Oilers have like 4 guys that can play 3rd pairing LD I think if they make a move for a Dman he should be able to play in the top 4
