I don’t know that I would say the Flyers give up the least. The original thought was Walker to the Jets for Lambert and Montreal’s 2nd this year, which I thought was reasonable. Winnipeg has 23/23 roster slots taken up and would need to move someone off the roster to make any deal work.

The Kings are looking for depth upgrades and Arvidsson is a UFA at the season’s and coming off of back surgery that he only just had 3-4 months ago. Yes, definitely is a productive player, but, IMO, is a HUGE question mark the rest of the way.

The Jets, in theory, could move Iafallo and not be losing much in terms of offense, as he is mainly relegated to 3rd/4th line usage. The Kings don’t exactly have much in terms of cap space either.

The Flyers then facilitate moving Iafallo back to the Kings by retaining 50% of his contract, and giving up a VERY valuable retention slot (2nd of 3) and taking back the the Arvidsson contract, that expires at the end of the year. The Flyers weaponizing their cap space (they could still put Ryan Ellis on LTIR to clear more if needed) and the use of a retention slot, would be ultimately be receiving Turcotte, a player that needs a change of scenery to have a better chance, and a 1st round pick.

Is the 1st being a smidge too greedy? That’s debatable. It is justifiable. Would I be willing to take a 2nd back instead? Sure, but the Kings don’t have a 2nd until next year. I would then want the 2nd to have a condition of moving to a lottery protected 1st in 2025 based on Kings success (making it to WCF or SCF).
