You can't retain on 4 different players. The cap for a 1 team is 3 players.

Difference is you can count on Bunting to be what he is for the next 4-5 seasons while Kane's age based decline has already begun. Kane's next contract isn't going to be a good one and is not likely to end well. He's also going to want a lot more money than Bunting even though he won't be earning it by the end of the deal.

With what cap space? Signing Kane would mean losing Bunting. It would just swapping 1 top 6 winger for another.

Leafs have never been willing to move Knies for a rental. That's always been the benchmark for Dubas in a Knies trade.

Detroit Red Wings
Bertuzzi isn't going to get a return like this. Guy is on a less than 30 point pace this season (across 82 games) and on his 3rd injury now. He only has one outliar seasons under his belt that would merit this kind of return. It was the exception rather than the norm.

Leafs aren't willing to pay this kind of sum for McCabe. Friedman snuffed out any rumors about this.
You tried to retain on like 5 different guys. The most a team can do is 3.

Leafs never traded for Muzzin
Why would Muzzin not being traded for effect things like Tavares being signed when Tavares was signed long before Muzzin was traded for? Half these things stem from the Tavares signing rather than the Muzzin trade.

What i would do without trading Knies or the 1st
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Tbh Henrique will likely cost a 1st especially if they retain or take back cap. He’s been the 1st line winger for Anaheim and also plays centre and can win draws</div></div>
Taking expiring cap back at the deadline isn't worth anything. It's retention that would push his value up but the Leafs could get it done without it.

I think someone like an Adam Henrique is a much better fit. if you are moving cap the other way, you could probably do it without retention which would keep the cost down and likely under a 1st. He'd be the scoring left winger that the Leafs need as well as center depth in case one of the top 2 goes down. He's a much better fit than someone like Barbashev ... and he comes with term.
Bonino just doesn't seem to be worth the cap space in this. He's not really bringing anything to the bottom 6 the Leafs don't already have.

End-all Jenner-To-Leafs Trade
Those aren't very good comparables by actual stats outside of your feelings ... and your feelings don't matter. Jenner wouldn't have actual value close to those players because he's not as good a player. You say his value is that he is the 'heart and soul' of the team but heart and soul has shown to carry little value in the marketplace historically.

Agian im proably high but your way off especially that pulji point</div></div>
The Pulju one is easy to make. You are trading 2 expiring contracts of middling players for a middle 6 winger with a lot of team control left. Of course the term wins.

Islanders trade doesn't make much sense. A 1st and 2 3rds likely gets you both Tarasenko and Bortuzzo. Mayfield as a rental is worth around a 1st himself. Why are the Islanders moving an extra 1st round pick in value in this trade?
Acciari is just a bottom 6 guy. He doesn't bring a lot of value to a trade, he's a mid round pick value. An injured, and horrible season, O'Reilly isn't going to fetch a 1st and 2nd.
Puljujarv is the most valuable piece in this trade. He'd probably get both those players alone since they are rentals. Definitely nothing there worth a 1st to start otherwise with a 3rd line winger and a bottom pairing defenseman.
Florida has no cap space.
None of these are particularly well thought out and you have a heavy Blues bias in values.
