Blues 21-22
Rangers have excellent Defensive depth. As nice as it would be to have Dunn, it's unnecessary to acquire him.
Rangers have K'Andre (already ahead of schedule in development) and Lindgren for their Top 2 Left spots...and Lundkvist coming in next Season behind Fox and Trouba on the Right.
I am perfectly fine with Hajek and/or Tarmo holding down that final spot on the bottom pairing until Robertson or one of the other Prospects come along.
Rangers will only trade their 1st Rounders for Center Depth. Their one true weakness after 21-22 when at least one of Zibenejad or Strome will leave in Free Agency.

2019 2nd round pick. He's a LHD and I'd probably put him at #5 in their pipeline (Lundkvist, Miller, Kravtsov, Lafreniere being the ones above him).
I think he's got a decent shot at being an NHLer, but his ceiling is probably second pairing #3-4 guy on a contending team

Colorado turned down the Flames offer of 6, 22, 28 in the 2013 draft. You'd probably need 3 1st's and Lindholm or Tkachuk to get NYR to think about it

(VAN/TBL) - Mazanec, 2020 conditional 1st round pick, 2019 3rd round pick for Miller
Not really sure why so many people are crapping on Miller. Over the last 3 years...
239 GP / 161 PTS
That ranks 38th among centers.
People are clamoring over Duchene and not batting an eye at $9 million a year, yet over the same 3 years he a total of 9 more points than Miller.
Now maybe you're thinking "well he's really a winger" and that's fine. Among all LWers he ranks 17th in points over the last 3 years. Other notable LW's with similar point totals...
Rickard Rakell - 163pts
Nikolaj Ehlers - 161pts
Evander Kane - 153pts
Jason Zucker - 153pts

(CHI/DET) - Perlini for Regula

Quoting: SpaghettiPasta

A decent prospect for an average player. Regula is a ppg as a defenseman in the OHL, perlini is leauge average. If Regula pans out to be what he has been so far in Juniors, this could be a huge win for Chicago.

So Regula is a PPG player in the OHL ....
Rookie Year (16 years old) = 53 GP / 5 PTS = 0.09 PPG
Draft Year (17 years old) = 71 GP / 25 PTS = 0.35 PPG
Draft + 1 (18 years old) = 77 GP / 45 PTS = 0.58 PPG
Draft + 2 (19 years old) = 10 GP / 10 PTS = 1.00 PPG
Does 10 points as an over-aged and over-sized defensemen make you a point per game player overnight?
He's playing on the London Knights with Ryan Merkley, Liam Foudy and Connor McMichael ... against kids.
Those guys are creating the offense not Regula.

Quoting: GenericUsername489

Are you telling me that you would rather see promising young players than 31 pts. in 248 games Michael Haley?? You're crazy!!!

Quoting: mvp13

A possible reason for this - as I've now been informed - is the Rags only have 4 games in the opening 15 days. Maybe they are sending Krav and Fil down to get some games in during this weird opening schedule. I still don't like it, but that does make some sense, at least. I'll wait for the press conference about it and see if Coach mentions it

Haley is a 13th forward that won't get playing time.. in terms of Chytil and Kravtsov-- it makes sense to have them in the AHL.
Chytil:
- He is absolutely atrocious at faceoffs
- Bad in the defensive zone
- Horrible pre-season performance
Result: he needs to learn how to play center in the AHL. The rangers could only use him at wing, but they need him to be a center long term. Give him a year to develop at the position in the AHL.
Kravtsov:
- Played well enough in preseason to play top 9
- Due to rangers current roster makeup and predictions, would be playing a 4th line role
- Rangers have to build up the value of Strome (rfa), Namestnikov (UFA), Fast (UFA) who are most likely gone by the TDL
- You have three top 50 prospects in the entire NHL in the AHL between Chytil, Kravtsov and Sheshterkin (arguably top 25). With the additions to Hartford, they should no longer be a bottom feeder. Let Chytil and Kravtsov build chemistry together and they could be in the top 6 come trade deadline (if kreider/strome/namestnikov are traded).
Result: Better to get top pairing minutes in AHL while adjusting to the smaller rink size instead of 4th line minutes

Quoting: Bulletclub94

You need to RELAX, contracts will be moved before seasons end. This is not suppose to be a "contending" year. It is a develop and move on from expiring contracts.
No point in having Kravstov who at times showed flashes of how good he can be but at others looked scared to go into corners play 3rd or 4th line minutes. Let him along with Chytil who had a terrible preseason get 1st line minutes in Hartford who play 8 games in the first 2 weeks while the Rangers only play 4.

I admittedly did not realize the terrible schedule we have for the first two weeks when I made this; apologies for that and I did mention it in a comment shortly after posting the thread. Still, I don't want to see Micheal Haley on the ice for even 10 minutes this year... hopefully Fil and Krav can come up after the first two weeks. Those two going down aren't as bad as possibly losing Nieves through waivers... he easily could have been the 13th forward

Quoting: Bulletclub94

Jenner is what he is, is a 3rd line wing really gonna be a piece that puts you guys over the top?

Sorry I meant Kreiders is gonna cost more cap wise. And no but it creates depth, we don’t lose our 2020 2nd or a huge piece. Jenner’s 3 mil also leaves us with cap space for offseason. The moves helps us a lot in the sense that it creates opportunity and he’s shown flashes of top6 before but struggled recently, I like him personally but aware the move doesn’t move the sharks drastically but I say the same for Kreider, and other rentals who move the needle temporarily but I think Kreider isn’t worth the ask

Quoting: Rooney

Shattenkirk will take up just over 6 million next year actually...yikes.

he's taking up 2m currently.. so it's a 4m additional as i said
edt: if you want to get real specific, he takes up 1.483m this year, and will get a 4.6m increase to 6.083m next year. Girardi takes up 3.611m this year, and goes down by 2.5m to 1.111m next year.
Fast= 1.85m
Strome = 3.1m
Namestnikov=4m
Cap increase=2m (minimally)
Girardi Decrease: 2.5m
Total Decrease: 13.45m
Total increase: 4.6m
Net gain: 8.85m
If they don't resign kreider add another 4.625 to that for a total cap free of 13.475 to resign DeAngelo... unless he turns into Erik Karlsson, Drew Doughty, etc.. i think we're good

The Islanders allowed the fewest goals in the NHL. That can be attributed to about 9,000 factors. In no way does it mean that they have the #1 ranked D corps. There is no metric for that.

QMJHL is hard not to ignore. Guys like Zadina and Abramov lit it up for a couple of years and havent made the NHL roster yet in year 2 and 3 respectively. But its not like their busts just havent made it yet
