<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stevierebz</b></div><div>Not a huge fan of the line combinations. Mantha is already a net front presence so I’d prefer a sniper with him and lark, I think Zadina would fit that well. Second I’d put AA on the third line opposite Vanek and start Svechnikov in GR.
Also IMO, either give Lark the C straight out or give them all an A and let him earn it.</div></div>

Bertuzzi is the net front presence and Mantha would be the sniper. I get that he's huge, but thats not utilizing his talent. Ras would be the net front on the other unit. That's a full 23 man roster and Svech is the next forward to be called up. He had a rough time with his injury, but his rookie season in GR is better than any season Mantha, Bert, or AA had in GR and he looked pretty good in his call up. I'd rather have Svech in a sheltered 3rd line role with Vanek than AA because Svech has much more potential than AA IMO and needs it more to adjust to the NHL level. With AA on the 4th line and on the top PP unit and with Blash doing his in-game line blender, AA would still have his 15 min/game.

Edit: AA and Larkin have pretty good shots too. IDK what Bylsma has planned, but maybe Nyquist could be on the top PP unit. I don't think Zadina will make the team right away. He'll likely be called up if a forward goes on IR or after the deadline when Nyquist (or another forward) is traded. The Wings are usually very patient with their prospects. Plus GR will be very beneficial to Zadina, not so much for Svech at this point.

He's super soft on along the boards but Detroit needs a major rebuild and having young guys come in with that blue line is a recipe for disaster. You guys need some veterans who can help transition to the next wings contender and currently have the absolute worst defence core in hockey. There are some AHL teams sporting better blue lines than Detroit is currently. Forwards are easier to find than defencemen and I think TO wants to make room for some younger guys to possibly make the lineup.

I can see Detroit saying no though, they may want to just stay bad for a while to keep getting high picks.</div></div>

We have plenty of veteran leadership with Kronwall, Daley, and Green (very likely he re-signs). They have high hockey IQ's and good leadership presence, it's just their bodies are crapping out on them. Trading for a soon to be 28 year old who has one year left on his contract and choked hard in the playoffs (making it hard to move him at the TDL) doesn't help our rebuild especially when giving up a 2nd rounder for him. The big thing is we have 2 NHL ready prospects (Hicketts and Hronek) who need an available roster spot next year. Gardiner won't be anywhere near 52 points if he's playing for Detroit if anything he'll probably put up similar numbers to Green while being a defensive liability. That being said Green is physical, fast, and actually decent defensively so I still think he would be our best defenseman even with his lingering injuries.
