I don’t think this trade would happen… Sweeney is so bad at his job and this makes too much sense.
Let’s break it down.
Draft picks in the hands of Don Sweeney are useless.
Agree to trade them. ✅
Nick Foligno is washed up and useless.
Agree to trade him. ✅
Reilly is mediocre to replaceable.
Agree to trade him. ✅

Sweeney would still screw this up even if all he got back was a bag of pucks.

Why? Monahan has very little value at this point. Injury and lack of production, expiring contract. Bruins would hold onto Nosek and Haula - cheaper proven vets. Unless Calgary keeps some money and gets a prospect? I could see these players all being moved at the deadline depending on how the teams are doing next season. ie buyers or sellers

Do you think he could find some game being on a line with Pasta and Hall? I think he’s pretty solid for his contract, Vegas would rather bet on Eichel than Billy Karlsson so maybe some compensation goes the Bruins way instead of VGK getting the higher pick.

Foligio is bad.
Smith and Haula, while being great teammates and locker room veterans, their skill set is replaceable by any number of middle six wingers. They don’t add enough grit or size.
Absorbing $9M of cap space, it would take an actual high end NHL talent. Swap out Haula for Pasta… 😳

All right… all right.
This one ain’t getting off the ground.
I think a Lindholm/McAvoy pairing would be pretty solid.
I’m not trying to troll… But my goodness, the Ducks fans fainting and clutching pearls over a trade involving 2022 version of Getzlaff. He’s got a NTC so if he wanted to go elsewhere and add to a team for the playoffs it wouldn’t be that shocking. Solid guy in every way.
