<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vinny82</b></div><div>If Philly doesn't see him as a 1c they won't trade their best player for him. We need a 1c, we have Coots long term who can be a decent 2/3c, we have frost who is projecting into a very solid 2c, and we still have Laughton under contract who is a very capable 3c. We aren't giving up TK in a trade for an asset unless it projects to be a bonafide #1 center in the NHL for many years to come.</div></div>
my rationale was Pinto takes over for Coots at 2C. Younger player with better long-term outlook that might suit the flyers timelines better. Stylistically I think he is very similar to him as well

What is Chabby worth if we keep Chych
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sr_Advisor_Hockey_Ops</b></div><div>Agreed Makes sense to keep Chabot and trade Chychrun. (Personally, I think Chabot is a much better puck mover.)
How about something like Chychrun and Forsberg to Philly for Ristolainen and Cates (or Laughton)? Roughly same cap hit. Chychrun plays with Drysdale Ristolainen plays with Chabot Philly gets a backup goalie for one year. Ottawa gets a bottom 6 winger</div></div>
Risto had had a bit of a resurgence with torts but idk if hes the guy I would hitch my wagon to at RD. Idk if his floor is high enough to be a t4 guy on a playoff contender, and i think 3 years of term is a bit sketchy for a bottom pair player. Maybe something like Cates/Laugton and the florida first for Chychrun Forsberg and the sens add a touch of something as well to balance out for taking forsberg

It makes much more sense to trade Chychrun and keep Chabot.</div></div>

trading batherson for weegar and finding a capable top 6 replacement
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goose1227</b></div><div>I like…do you think Tomasino could be had for lower than a 1st? I’ve always been a fan of his. Not sure what happened this year. Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs with more mins, I don’t know.
The only thing I’d say w the Philly trade is Sens need a RHD badly. I think Zamula would be nice, but ideally RHD is priority. I’m not sure if Risto is that guy, I also don’t like his contract $5m…but maybe w some retention. I don’t know lol. Good job overall though.</div></div>
I think tomasino could be had for less but its hard to say with those kinds of deals. Nils lundkvist got moved for a smiliar-ish value pick and I think they are at similar stages of their career so i used that as a guideline

Yeah it was never a question of retaining Necas, it was more that is going from necas to joseph while getting more assets worth it in order to keep pesce/skjei/teravainen

Yeah i agree thats the most likely case, i was just seeing if there was interest in flipping necas for a decent winger that would fit the system to maintain cap flexibility

He is incredibly similar to Drake Batherson, who admittedly I would also probably not trade for Joseph and a 20ish 1st round pick; but i also recognize he has nowhere near the value of a an upside #1C or a top 10 pick +

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>As I said, the most realistic way Necas ends up in Ottawa is in a package for Stutzle. Nothing else you have interests a buying team. Mathieu Joseph is mediocre and overpaid. The 1st is going to be late. From a futures perspective, I don't think it's unreasonable to say both Pinto and the OTTAWA 1st in 2024 would have to be on the table to even open a conversation. A bottom six winger and a late 1st isn't getting a dude coming off a 70 point season, whose going to reach 60-65 again this year</div></div>
yeah thats just not going to happen. I dont think Necas is the piece that'll be leaving Carolina either, but those are huge over-valuations of his value imo.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>That's not even remotely close for Necas. He's going to make north of 7 million for one. The only way I can see Necas ending up in Ottawa is if he's in a package for Stutzle. Nothing else is particularly interesting. A late 1st and a cap dump isn't close. I could see Tkachuk as a possible target, but he also sucks defensively which may make him very not a Rod target, depending on if he is the coach next year still</div></div>
i understand its short on the offer but lets be realistic as to what is attainable for necas lol. MJ is also not a cap dump, hes comfortably worth more than his cap hit

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>And having seen Ginning play in Philly the last few games, he looks solid, even playing with another rookie.
He is 24 yrs old, but only his second season in North America, big kid with wheels, solid stay at home type but clean passes and calm demeanor. Hes a former 2nd round pick, but wouldn;t look bad as a 4th LD, or an 8th dman even at this point.
Helge is a strange one, hes a RD, hes big but more of a finesse guy, pretty smooth skater for a big man. His offense hasn;t translated to the NAmerican game as yet, but he has alot of upside.</div></div>
i think in practice my preference would be Grans just due to the lack of right-shot d-men we have with his type of profile and his skillset interests me. Ginning would be pinned to 3LD and I think we have guys who could cover that role in the system already. Neither sound like bad options though

PHI needs a backup goalie and they have cap space, so maybe combine the forsberg and chychrun deals to something like:
Chychrun and Forsberg for 2024 FLA 1st and RD prospect Grans Helge or LD prospect Adam Ginning. (Helge and Ginning aren;t Zamula, but you dont need to add a 3rd and 4th to drop Forsberg)</div></div>

Claesson4Norris Good luck finding another under 26 yo 65 point winger making less than 5M for 3 more years. in a cap world Bath has immensely more value than weegar</div></div>
talented scoring wingers are easier to find than all-situation top 4 right-shot defensemen. If the team wants success next year this deal makes them better. There is still a hole, but that hole is easier to patch
