IMO scoing for this team in the playoffs will be a grind. Agree to disagree on the D, don't think they need to add a top 4LD.

That's your opinion which is fine. The point is CHI doesn't really want to trade him. THAT's why it costs so much. If you want to take a piece away from a team that doesn't really want to lose....you pay through the nose. Not just a late 1st and B prospect. The trade above is what AZ is looking for....for Crouse!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KadenM_R</b></div><div>I feel like thats mostly a fair deal but I imagine Anaheim would want to keep Lindholm since they're doing surprisingly well this year</div></div>
As a Ducks fan, I personally feel like the team needs to take a more long-term oriented approach at the deadline. Covid cancellations have really made the Pacific look a lot more separated than it actually is...the Central will more than likely claim both of the wildcard spots, leaving Anaheim, LA, Calgary and Edmonton fighting for 2 playoff spots. As much as I love how it's gone so far, the Flames and Oilers both have 7 games in hand on us, and are well within striking distance. Obviously they're going to have a lot of games slammed together, which will be somewhat beneficial for the Ducks, but I would be very, very surprised to be in the same spot a month from now.
With that, whoever the new GM ends up being (Looking like Pat Verbeek?), has to come in and get something done ASAP. If your first move is to watch Manson, Lindholm and Rakell walk for nothing this summer you're clinging to a *potential* playoff birth, it's a pretty horrible spot to put yourself. Gotta think whoever gets hired comes in with a clear, long-term oriented plan.
Plus, the Ducks could always just re-sign him in the offseason :tearsofjoy

Should the Leafs look at acquiring Severson, let’s hope to God he never has to defend a 2v1. Who was he covering 🤷♂️</div></div>
No clue what he was doing right there
But I know some leaf fans are gonna say “Severson is trash” because of one play

By far the deepest offence in the league, tons of talent besides Draisaitl (9 top 6 forwards). They would be pretty heavy favorites.</div></div>
It was a bit of Sarcasm because of exactly what you guys saw, this team would have no weaknesses. Jeff Carter is probably the weakest link and he's probably better than 50% of the NHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>Oh absolutely, having different line combinations is always beneficial for all the reasons you mentioned below. I just think putting Marner Matthews and Nylander all on different lines doesn't work as long as Kampf is your 3C. He's fine there on the line tonight as it's more of a shutdown line. I honestly think if you're going to use these lines in certain situations, down 2-3 midway through a game/ going into the 3rd, you move Spezza up and Kampf down and roll those 3 lines, that would be an interesting concept I think.</div></div>
Bunting Matthews Kase
Mikheyev Tavares Marner
Kerfoot Nylander Spezza
Engvall Kampf Simmonds

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>It would be nice but I just don't see the benefit of playing Nylander with Kampf, as he's just a blackhole offensively. In order for it to work imo we would need a 3C who's better offensively and still reliable defensively.</div></div>
I wouldn't have abandon the balance lined approach just yet. The more line combinations you have that can work, the more you are able to disrupt the rhythm and pace of the game. Some nights they will work and some nights they won't (which you can always revert back to the current look they are going with tonight) have more options is better than not. It would help them down the road IMO. If they are able to find success with multiple combinations they will become less predictable to play against. Again, you can always go back to what works mid game.
Can't disagree with you there, having a more offensive 3rd line C would be beneficial. Could move Kampf down to the 4th line.

If you compare with the same idea i did earlier with the 2016 draft you can see how big is the gap, and 2016 isn't a bad draft it's a really good draft even.</div></div>

Leafs Playoff Line Up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bluspy88</b></div><div>This guy is dead wrong about most things. The one thing is that Murphy probably won't get moved because I believe Chicago gave him an extension already? Could be wrong on that but I remember seeing something about that. He certainly is good though. I once again question why some fans keep saying Holl is better than nearly every RHD in trade proposals when the team has made it abundantly clear they want to move on from him/upgrade. Jarnkrok is at least as good as Mikheyev, probably better in some ways including playoff experience. Braun could absolutely get a 2nd, I don't think he is necessarily worth it but he is a steady veteran RHD that can play on all pairs in a pinch and kill penalties AKA a GM wet dream.
OP, I think that your ideas (other than Murphy for reasons not your fault) are all pretty solid, and this guy is just a contrarian.</div></div>
You are better off banging your head against the wall then arguing with Mr. London.
Murphy would be an excellent addition to the Leafs. But I also don’t see CHI moving him after just resigning him.

The Famous 2015 Draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AustonMatthews3443</b></div><div>Draft picks outside of the top 3 rounds have a better chance of never playing in the NHL then they do of playing, with 3rd rounders being pretty much a coin flip. You can do this with pretty much every team, every draft. I know Aho being selected the pick after Dermott is bitter sweet, but he never really exploded until the year after he got drafted.</div></div>
I know, I know.
I stated in the description that I understand this can be done for basically any team (Montreal had a terrible 2015. Boston’s wasn’t good either) and it’s not only 2015. It happens all the time. Too many to count.
I was just having some fun. Looking at how crazy this draft class really was.
49.8% of the players in this draft have played at least 1 game in the NHL. That’s insane!
The Aho thing stings even more because Dubas wanted him, but wasn’t in charge at the time. Dermott is good and all, but Sebastian Aho is Sebastian Aho. Pretty self explanatory :tearsofjoy
