Boston Bruins signed Mitchell Miller (3 Years / $950,000 AAV)
The only scenario I could be somewhat alright with seeing Miller in the NHL would be if his victim(s) forgave him for his actions and gave their explicit blessing to be alright with him pursuing a career in hockey.
This wishy-washy statement deflecting and downplaying the issue is woefully insufficient.

In 2016, Miller and a classmate were found delinquent in an Ohio juvenile court on charges of assault and a violation of the Ohio Safe Schools Act.[4] The pair were accused and found guilty of forcing a developmentally disabled African American classmate, Isaiah Meyer-Crothers, to eat a piece of candy that they had wiped along the inside of a urinal, repeated bullying of Meyer-Crothers, and repeatedly calling him a n*****. Surveillance video also captured them kicking and punching Meyer-Crothers.

Don't forget. He REFUSED TO APOLOGIZE to the kid. But did to NHL teams!!!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>His</b></div><div>According to the Republic, Miller apologized to the then thirty-one NHL teams, but never to Meyer-Crothers or to his family.[16] In a letter addressed to the Coyotes, Meyer-Crothers' mother, Joni, found Armstrong's comments demeaning to her son, stating that while Miller's classmate apologized to Meyer-Crothers, Miller himself was unwilling to show contrition. A juvenile court magistrate in Ohio concluded that Miller had absolutely no remorse for his actions against Meyer-Crothers and was merely upset that his reputation would be damaged by the situation. As a result of the exposé, the Coyotes received widespread criticism for drafting Miller.[17] This ultimately led to the Coyotes renouncing their draft rights to Miller and cutting all ties with him.[10][11][18] Miller was subsequently dropped from the University of North Dakota hockey team on the direct orders of the university president Andrew Armacost. Miller was still however in good standing academically, and was allowed to continue attending classes at the university.[12]
More details about the bullying surfaced after The Independent published a detailed letter from the Meyer-Crothers family, reiterating that Miller has not apologized to the family, and detailing further accusations about Miller's behavior, starting as early as 1st grade.[19][20] These allegations include:
calling Meyer-Crothers **** in first grade
along with a classmate smacking and punching Meyer-Crothers on the school bus
repeated uses of the word **** against Meyer-Crothers
spitting in Meyer-Crothers' face
Miller maintains that his court-mandated apology letter was read to the Meyer-Crothers family.[21]</div></div>

A deal that helps the Leafs and Coyotes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KMMHL2012</b></div><div>Teams pay for cap relief, they don't usually get picks back.
Why would Arizona who's in a rebuild help the leafs, Engvall likely won't stick around there.
Engvall and 4th for future considerations would be more likely.</div></div>
I understand the want for picks back for cap relief but this is more of a situation of getting better for both teams. Leafs don't need to move Engvall at all, Lilly is likely weeks away and makes a strong case to be a player the Leafs rely on for PK and possibly PP. He does not have a high cap hit for what he will likely produce making him a player of value, not a negative value. I hate this idea of every bad team HAS to get picks back for players. It is not true. Arizona is in a situation where Engvall immediately makes them better. This isnt a Ritche situation or a Marzek one where the Leafs are actively looking to move them because their bad. This is a situation that allows Arizona to get better at a cheap price for someone who likely plays on their top 6. If you were a rebuilding GM and someone said he would you like a young, speedy, large player who will likely play in your top 6 this season and onwards play in your top 9 for a 4th round pick, and you said no! I want picks back, the other GM just hangs up the phone.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DeadWingsv2</b></div><div>I don't think he'll sign in Toronto, I could see Ottawa though. He doesn't seem like the type that likes the big cities to me. If I had to bet, I could see him signing either a 1 year deal, or PTO with Edmonton or Columbus.
I think whoever actually gives him a chance, will get a steal and love him. He went from a cap moving throw in, to playing here a couple years and I was all for the Wings giving him a 2 year deal to stay, because he's that good of a guy and just such a consummate professional that can still play and add offense on the 4th line as well.</div></div>
He's fromt he gta and purchased his former minor hockey team with JT. He is very much a Toronto guy, even if the core is too busy. I think we all agree that who ever gets him will be quite happy with ol Sam Wise Gagner

It's crazy the Avs have built a team where being a good skater, usually isn't good enough. He's a true pro so I'm guessing the Avs would be happy to have him if he's ok with sharing nacho duty with Cogs/Helm. Along with EJ, I can see the Avs using some load management tactics.
My guess is he signs in Toronto for league min if the space is made.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JaredOfLondon</b></div><div>Ah yes, two ducks fans massively over rate their guys and it's automatically someone else who is wrong.
Marner is worth significantly more than either prospect alone. He's 25, just had 34 goals and 97 points in 72 games while being a major penalty killer on one of the leagues best pks.
Even if the ducks didnt want to keep marner for timeline reasons, they'd do that trade because they could easily flip him for way more than they paid which would match their rebuilding timeline.
Pretending otherwise is prospect over rating at it's best</div></div>
So they overrating their prospects, yet you and other TML don’t do the same with Robertson, Hiro, Topi, Arbz, etc.?
Again, you are looking at it from ONE perspective. You see 34 goals, 97 points, 25 years old. People outside Toronto see a very skilled, elite winger. They see robin to Mattman.
You look at McTavish and Zegras and see two players that don’t give Marner’s value currently. Others see two potential number 1 centers, or potentially one of the best 1-2 center punches in the NHL for the next 10 years.
You even said flip him if need be…. Why the hell would you take two top prospects (one already proven in the nhl) and trade for a super star, to turn around and try and get more prospects lol. It makes no sense. What are you flipping marner for that will get you more than MM and TZ? Also, retaining salary? Which teams are already ineligible due to not being able to take 5-10 million? A lot of questions that you don’t have answers for.
