Where does Hall go
Don’t see jarmo trading Blankenburg, when he was healthy he was looking pretty good with Werenski, then both got hurt and the d core was in shambles. He is someone I think they would want to see what he can do next season.

Tearing it down
Columbus isn’t trading 3rd OA for Lindholm and Hanifin let alone adding to get both of them. Rebuilding teams don’t trade high draft picks for rentals.

Is trading up to 3OA even remotely possible CBJ fans
Only players Columbus would move 3rd OA for are Pettersson and Hughes, otherwise it’s gunna be a no.

Columbus isn’t trading a 1st for lowery, we don’t need a 3c.
Also Kane just had major hip surgery, he isn’t getting 11 mil as a UFA, there’s even a possibility he retires.

Consensus CBJ ACGM - Attempt 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>In this instance, we still have Bean buried in the AHL...I'm not sold on him being a reliable 3LD, but it's an option. Otherwise, maybe a UFA? Or a package of Bean + LAK 1st + ??? for someone like Hanifin, which I've seen a lot? I agree with you on injury history at D, that's a major concern.</div></div>
Bean isn’t good, he likely gets one more shot at the NHL and is gone. He isn’t really in the window of playing much next season (also agin injury history). I wouldn’t be seeking the farm to fix the 3rd pair LD option unless it’s a cheap trade or someone if giving a guy on a 1 year deal away to make cap room.
Fixing the 2nd pair with Kulak or Gry seems like the best option imo, and letting the kids develop, this isn’t the summer to make major changes to the team after all the injuries last year.

Consensus CBJ ACGM - Attempt 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>If Columbus trades for Gryz, Kulak wouldn't fill a direct need...maybe Peeke for a 2nd straight-up?</div></div>
No, because Columbus would need to fill that role of 3rd pair LD with someone, Boqvist and Blankenburg can’t be 100% trusted to be in the line up for all 82 games, Peeke or in this case Kulak can be.
Honestly with Columbus’s injury history on the backend have int a lot of depth on the blueline will be a need for us so we aren’t having to trust to play Berni as the top pair LHD next season.

Columbus isn’t trading Texier after letting be away from the team and supporting him for a year and a half. It would be a really bad look if they did that.

Columbus Contending in 2023-24
This isn’t a contending team, the forwards are decent, the goaltending is shaky at best and the d core is just terrible.

Columbus didn’t let Texier play in Europe and support him for a year and a half to trade him away 2 weeks after announcing he’s coming back to NA.

Reloading
Columbus does need a 2nd pair LHD but they aren’t trading Jenner (who is their 1c) for one that is also a rental and will be a UFA at the end of next season.
Columbus isn’t in a spot to be paying a premium for rentals.

Hanifin and Lindholm blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>The trade would have to include 2 extensions but the Jackets need help at centre and LD and this solves that longterm</div></div>
I still wouldn’t move 3rd OA plus for them with extensions, they do need help in both positions but it seems like that’s a move they make if they try to rush into being competitive like the rangers have done.

Columbus declines easy, no way they are trading 3rd OA for two pending UFAs let alone adding Boqvist and Roslovic for them.

Canucks - Cap to 85
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Beau is "just a wing" but he's easily better than most of what we've got. If Laine sticks at center, that does leave 2RW open, and to be honest, I'd rather have Beau at 4.5 than Boeser at 6.6. He has no injury history and is defensively competent. I look at this deal as a swap of him for Roslovic and the picks for Peeke.</div></div>
Laine isn’t a center, he won’t stick let alone play center next season, it was a desperate move from a desperate coach trying not to get fired.
Even if Laine is moved off the right side, we still have plenty of players to fill that spot, but I would consider moving Roslovic for Beau.
As for the injury history I’m mostly looking at Werenski, Bean, Blankenburg and Boqvist.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>I like Beau a lot. I like the second. Columbus accepts.</div></div>
Meh, Columbus doesn’t really need another wing and I’d still be hesitant on moving Peeke with our d cores injury history, he is a good depth player Columbus needs.

Columbus doesn’t need a RHD, would consider Kulak as a LHD and would probably pay a 3rd or 3rd and 5th for him.

Hellebuyck Trade
Columbus declines easily, Helleybuck is great but Columbus isn’t trading 3rd OA for a goalie who is going to be 31 when his next contract starts. That contract is not going to end well paying him 8+ at 35-37.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Civil_Eng_PE</b></div><div>Drafting Carlsson is 100% what is going to a happen. Just like to look at hypotheticals. Going to be another rough season next year IMO. Just want to be good sooner rather than later : (</div></div>
Look at what happened to Chicago when they traded to get Jones from us, they went to rush the rebuild and ended up flat on their face, that’ll be exactly what happens to Columbus if they try and rush it to be “good sooner rather then later”. Trust the process, Columbus looks like they could be building something that isn’t good for 2-3 years but something that could be good for the next 10.

Stop overthinking this, just draft Carlsson.
Also don’t trade 3rd OA for a pending UFA, that 100% won’t work.

Columbus trade one- sure Columbus could use the help on the left side of the defence.
Columbus trade two - Coyle is all yours, I’d rather have Roslovic as a 3c at 4 mil for one season and hand the role off to Sillinger, Jenner or a center they draft this year, vs getting Coyle 5.25 for 3 more years. Columbus doesn’t need depth centers, they need a top line center.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CaseyFlyman</b></div><div>Interesting CBJ trade...JGPG is kind of an expensive middle-6 option, where CBJ need just better players overall. Aho is interesting, but he seems like more of a 2nd-3rd pair D-man when we're probably looking for more of a 1st-2nd pair D-man.
I don't know if the sum of those parts is equal to the LAK 1st, which could be used to land a higher-quality player (by draft or trade). It's a good starting point, but CBJ decline on value. Maybe the 2023 2nd and 2023 CGY 3rd for those two instead?</div></div>
Honestly I wouldn’t, I’d probably stay away from the JGP contract right now, 5 mil for a 3rd line center for 3 more years seems like it won’t end well when we are trying to get contracts with players like Sillinger, Johnson, Marchenko and others completed before it comes off the books. We also already have Jenner and Karuly as solid 3/4 center options.

If I’m Columbus I’d probably accept. That being said Peeke isn’t a top pair defenseman yet, he be better off with Ekholm on the 2nd pair or playing 3rd pair.
