Only players that fall under one or more of these conditions will be eligible to be removed from your roster/cap. READ CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING.

Once you have posted your eligible players, you must wait for approval and instructions on dealing with those players before taking any further action. Unapproved players can be re-submitted at a later date if they don't currently qualify.

1. Was not under contract IRL when retiring - Off your roster and off your books
2. Was under contract IRL when retiring - Off your roster and off your books UNLESS they were on a 35+ contract, where the full cap hit will still apply.
2b. Cap recapture penalties, if applicable, would also apply.
3. Left for another league (regardless of contract status) - The rights to the player will remain on your books, but the cap hit will be reduced to league minimum. (Markov, Andrei $5.5M x 2 years becomes (R) Markov, Andrei $650k x 2 years). If such player returns prior to the term expiring, you may re-sign them to match their IRL contract. If you choose not to, they will be placed on waivers under the same conditions. You may not keep them as "Rights" unless they clear waivers.
4. LTIR situations will be dealt with at the same time if possible. Obvious ones will be approved, but some will have to wait until their RL team puts them on LTIR, which is the only way we can confirm their status.

Teams will provide a list of names, along with the condition that applies to them. Be aware that only Capfriendly confirmed cases may be submitted at this time.
You will have the option to remove players under these same conditions if they are confirmed at a later date, this is only to get the bulk of the currently confirmed cases dealt with.

Example:

Colorado Avalanche

1. Andrei Markov: Went to the KHL
2. Mike Fisher: Announced Retirement
3. Joffrey Lupul: Placed on LTIR IRL

1. Markov would be removed from your roster by trade with the reason in the details.
You will then create a player to represent him.
(R) Markov, Andrei (left handed, defense) $650,000 x 2 years
If Markov returns to the NHL within 2 years, and signs a $3M contract, Colorado would have the option of re-signing him for that amount because they still hold his rights. If they do not, he would be placed on waivers with that contract. If he goes unclaimed, he becomes UFA at season end.

2. Mike Fisher would simply be removed from your roster by trade with the reason in the details.

3. Joffrey Lupul would be placed on LTIR (Rookie mode).

Kovy I believe would just be off the books but you retain his rights.

Doan: Approved. Trade him back to Arizona and note "Retired" in the details.

Kovalchuk: Approved. You own his rights until the start of the 18/19 season (1 year).
Trade him back to New Jersey and note "KHL. Rights retained" in the details.
Create a player, (R) Kovalchuk, Ilya with a $650,000 salary for 1 year.
That way you can bury him in minors and don't have to track him in your description where he can get lost.
DirtyDangles et Peterman a aimé ceci.
