Description

The more detail I go into on this trade the less I really want it to happen, Boston is going to get a haul from us, Sweeny won't get fooled again. I think one way to reduce the price slightly is to take on Belesky's contract, if that were to be the case we would have to move out Brouwer because having both on our roster would be awful.

The other problem that arises from this is that we have no room to sign Backlund to an extension, pile that on top of trading Bennett and our center depth would take a beating.

I just don't see the appeal for Boston...

-Pasta had more point last year then Bennett does in his career
-Kylington would be one of 4-5 other LHD prospects we have and he's probably #3 or #4 among them
-Dube is intriguing
-Fox is smaller defender that at best becomes our 3rd pairing RHD behind Carlo/McAvoy

At the end of the day the only NHL ready piece is Bennett and even then I think I rather have Spooner as my #3C. Have to imagine a deal for Pasta would involved Johnny Hockey

Very fair, I think that there should be more interest in Fox, but I do get the McCavoy/Carlo argument. I think there is a basis for a trade here, the problem is that I wouldn't want to give up as much as it would cost, staring with Johnny Hockey or Backlund.

I'm with ON3M4N. Johnny Hockey would need to be involved in the deal, but I like your realization that you'd have to take on Beleskey's contract. The money you're proposing for Pasta could be paid by Boston; if Pasta is going to accept that deal, he'd accept it with Boston.

I think if a deal would be made, an NHL ready top 4 D would also need to be included to open up room for Boston to include Carlo in a trade for Duchene.
