Come to think of it, with the trade that I just pulled off, having Pouliot on the 3rd line could be a good thing. If he sticks in the 2LW spot in Buffalo, he could provide some scoring punch to the line.

Giving up Karlsson hurt, but at least I got a replacement back in Watson; don't worry about his fancy stats, as they are a byproduct of playing with Cody McLeod and Vernon Fiddler.

I think we can trade Quincy and our 4th line C for an upgraded 4th line C (beagle?). This move will give us 23 players and be under the cap (most likely)

We can't trade Quincey. He was signed as an FA this year. Otherwise I'd boot him out, but we'll have to move Kulak for that instead.

Also, Beagle is not a big upgrade over Cracknell. I trust Cracknell for now. But if you can think of a 4C with more term, I'd be totally down for it.

That was also what I feared, though Nieves will still start the year with the big club due to Fast's injury. I also gave offers to MTL (for Tierney) and CHI (for Panik); those might turn out better than this swap.

He says he'll add Austin Czarnik to this deal. What do you think?

Add Czarnik since he can be a 4th liner for us. But then take out Nieves for a 3rd or 4th round pick

Actually, provided the negotiations with Montreal (trying to get Tierney) and Chicago (trying to get Panik) fall through, I'm gonna say yes to this. I already have a tentative deal in place to ship off Czarnik and Nieves for Josh Leivo and a 7th. Then I know exactly what I want to do with Leivo.

If you think this is a bad plan, please stop me now. But what's ultimately gonna happen is that we end up with Curtis Lazar and either Leivo or some much-needed draft picks.

I love our F core and G tandem. Defense needs work though. However we can't move a few guys because you signed them in free agency. So what do we do next?

Kulikov and the guy with the B for the last name. I don't have it infront of me right now. I like our right side but our left is weak

Bereglazov. Having those two is a big gamble, but Kulikov's back should be totally healed by now. Despite his inability to generate offense last year, he was as good at suppressing shots as he's always been and should thrive in a 2LD role (he was often BUF's 1LD when healthy). AV is a horrible coach but he's not dumb enough to let Bereglazov rot in the press box/send him to the minors. He has a KHL out clause for a reason. If Bereglazov ends up not playing for the Rangers or is trash, Quincey can plug the hole until the trade deadline.
