Tampa shouldn't be moving Duke. A pick to move Sheary is all they should need.

I’d agree but Tampa like always has no leverage and need to wipe their hands clean of sheary. If they are going for this 2 year all in window like it seems duke wont have much of a impact anyways

I don't think that just the next two years is all that JBB us focusing in, so I don't see them moving their 3rd or 4th best prospect just to dump Sheary.

But if the best window is the next 2 or 3 years why wouldn’t u better your team for that run. I’m not saying duke has to be involved but u have to get rid of sheary n

Yes, I agree that Sheary must go, but a 3rd or a 4th should be plenty. If more is needed look elsewhere or add a late pick/lesser prospect. He can be buried by the acquiring team and only cost 850k towards the cap. Tampa shouldn't be giving up premium assets for that.

Stamkos numbers are really off.

Joe Thorton at age 34 in '14 got 6.75M for 9.78% cap hit back then,
Claude Giroux at 34 in '22 got 6.5M (7.88% cap hit back then),
Patrick Marleau at 34 in '14 got 6.67M (9.66%),
Joe Pavelski at 34 in '19 got 7M for (8.59%),
Henrik Sedin at age 33 got 7.0M (10.89%),
Daniel Sedin at 33 got 7M (10.89%),
Alex Killorn at 33 in '23 got 6.25M (7.49%),
Backstrom at 32 in '20 got 9.2M (11.29%),
Pacioretty at 30 in '18 got 7M (8.81%),
Lecavalier at 33 in '13 got 4.5M (7%)

Stamkos at 5.25M of an expected 87.7M would be 5.99% of the cap. Based on the others your number for him is WAY, WAY off. Expect around 7.5M for roughly 8.5% of the cap.

All of those contracts also factor in state income tax. And stammer is taking the term over the AAV so rather than look g at his cap % compare the total salaries all those players got and maybe you’ll have a point but even then he is staying in Tampa for less than 6 mil
