Sweeney is not doing an offer sheet. He seems to consider relationships across the league

Also, Sweeney treats 2nd round picks as flyers on undervalued players. Can’t see him valuing a second so much that he trades solid 3rd liners for them.

Ullmark is not going to net a top 10 pick even if you throw in a 2025 unprotected 1st

Your not getting the 2024 1st LOL, unless you wanna send Swayman then sure you can have this years first. No goalie is getting the 10th overall pick LOL

Chicago would not pay that for either of those players IF they are even interested in either player

At this point in the year, it is about putting your team together.

My perspective is here are the deals we’ve been discussing.

1. Seamus Casey for Linus Ullmark
2. 2025 protected 1st for Linus Ullmark
3. Alex Holtz for Linus Ullmark

Maybe with 2 and 3 would include a 2024 3rd or 4th

We’ll see how it plays out

Casey over Holtz is interesting to me. I do 100% see the perspective, I have them pretty close together. Didn't think that was the outsider consensus tho.

I’m not sure if it’s outsider consensus. I do think Holtz doesn’t fit their system and it would be nice to have a good defender prospect who could be ready as soon as next year

Personally, I would probably pay a 2nd for Frederic, but not CHI's own 2nd.

Frederic is a tough SOB who is a solid, complete third liner making little money.

Don’t understand why the ACGM is doing this in the first place. The probable outcome for that 2nd round pick is a lot less than Frederic. Unless you don’t believe he is going to resign, a winning team doesn’t consider this deal

I agree. Which is why I was disagreeing with ChiHawk. I think if CHI could get him for an early 2nd, they take it and run. He may not be a top 6 forward, but he is a tough, hard working, fan favorite type of player that is gonna work his a$$ off for his team, on an affordable contract, and those guys are just as important as the rest of the roster.

One of the most overrated assets in the NHL by fans is the first round pick after the level in which the draft drops. Its better to have them vs not, but the draft generally looks like good player interspersed with AHL veterans at that stage when you look at historical metrics
