Description
Mtl needs good centers and the lost of Radulov is like a kick in the nuts. IOT fix this, I looked at Vegas who are aiming at finishing last and picking first for many coming years as their business strategy. They are also looking at getting a maximum of draft picks out of the expension draft. I also looked at Detroit who are facing a cap ceiling problem at this time. So this is what I came up with.

Getting Zetterberg is going to be tough and I have to offer cap ceiling solutions while giving something back with potential. Tatar going in arbitration is a big problem for Detroit also.

First, get to Vegas and get Shipachev and Marchessault for a precious 1st pick and a couple 3rd and Plekanec who is a great 3rd center at this time of his career. He is expensive but they have lots of cap space.

Then give Marchessault in return of Tatar to complete the Zman trade. He had a much better season than Tatar last year and he comes at a bargain price. This also gives about 4Mil$ to detroit IOT complete their lineup Under the cap.

Shaw whos multipurpose and McCarron are a nice fill into the lineup to complete the Zetterberg+Tatar trade.

Detroit would be able to rehire Vanek and sign Jagr at 2Mil$ each IOT complete lineup.

I think Detroit would still be competitive but they need to look at a five years reconstruction IOT win their next cup under the parity era.

When all is said, I really like the Idea of going after Zetterberg as a 1C option. Much more than the Tatars, RNH or Carter scenarios out there. Given the cap situation in Detroit, the price should be reasonable.
