3 way trade where Pageau goes to 3rd team for 3rd and 4th

So canucks get 40 OVR, 2024 3rd, 2025 4th and Maggio for Kuz

Unconventional trade ik but with his recent struggles and only having 1 year left I dont see him getting more than this

Last year he scored 39 goals with 25 expected goals, this year he is producing much closer to that pace. This is closer to fair imo

thats a hard pass for the Canucks, guy who scored 39 goals last season who's got 1 year left at $5.5M for a 2nd, 3rd and 4th is a hard no

He scored 14 goals above expected lol. When he finishes this season with 25 or less goals this is all he will get.

I don’t see why Canucks would do that. An expensive bottom 6 center, a future bottom 6 winger and 2nd round pick

JGP isnt going to vancouver genius. Plus this is after he finishes around 25 goals. In the 2024 offseason. And is pretty overpaid.

Maggio won OHL most outstanding player last season lmao hes not gonna be a career AHL player. The AHL islanders are horrific rn lol im not too worried about a rough start.

But thanks again for reading, I can tell you read before commenting!

Winning an award in the juniors means nothing lmao. He put up big points as an overager in a league that’s mainly teens. That’s like saying Dryden Hunt is gonna be amazing because he put up 116 points as an overager in the WHL

Either way, the Canucks are currently winning and trying to compete so this trade is the opposite of that

this is 2024 offseason dude holy crap.

Yea theyre winning with him scoring at a 13 goal pace--

Ive never seen such a perennial islanders hate as you are lol. I could have sent 3 1st rounders and youd say the canucks say no

A top 40 pick, solid B- prospect then a 3rd and 4th is more than enough for a 20 goal scorer with 1 year left at 5.5

Even so someone would pay more than that for Kuzy even if he finishes with 25 goals. Someone will think that it's just a sophomore slump and that he'll be back closer to 40 then 20.

Islander fans tend to over value their players on here. And I’m not the only one saying it’s a bad trade for Kuz

They probably rather ride him out than have an AHL player and picks that doesn’t help the current lineup lol

You are so annoying holy s--t.

IF THEY ARE RIGHT TO CAP AND NEED TO MOVE SOMEBODY. PLEASE READ THE FORUM.

Every team overvalues their players lmao.

They wont move him for another roster player because they have tons of guys coming up. Moving him clears space for Hoglander to move up in the lineup, Podkolzin and Raty to establish themselves as NHLers and even see Lekkermaki make a run for it.

This is genuinely so infuriating please read forums before commenting.

What if i reffered to Brendan Othmann as an AHLer? As a DY+2 he was barely over a PPG in the O. And now hes getting carried by special teams on probably the best AHL team, and i watch every single of of their home games too so i dont wanna hear crap about you being a rangers fan and him having more promise or some BS lol

If a team thinks its just a sophomore slump then id let them outbid us for sure, but I dont see him getting a 1st unless he really turns it around.

Vancouver wouldn't move him for a 1st unless they had cap space for a 1st line ufa. He's more valuable to Van unless they are moving him for an improvement to the defence

Lmao the difference is I have tempered expectations for NYR prospects. Othmann is probably more of a middle 6 winger than the typical NYR fans calling him a top 6 player

What any kid does in the juniors/NCAA/AHL means absolutely nothing until they prove they’re NHL worthy

There’s literally plenty of instances where kids produce at the juniors/NCAA/AHL levels and can’t make an nhl roster. It happens all the time lol

Vesey, Adam Gaudette, Will Butcher having trouble after being Hobey Baker winners
Brodzinski lighting up the AHL and has been a career AHLer
Dryden Hunt lights up the WHL in his final year and multiple 30/40 point AHL seasons
Evan Vierling finished 5th in OHL scoring last year and can’t even make an AHL team

Vesey won as a DY+3 as a 22 year old lmao.

And im not saying Maggio is gonna be a star. He is 143rd on my prospects list, behind guys like Jacob Perreault and Carter Mazur. His ranking was the exact middle between NHL likely, depth and NHL expectation, 3/4th line. Meaning I think hes gonna be someone who has a few seasons where hes an NHL regular but nothing more than 3rd line at best. I am not high on him, but he doesnt have zero value. Hes not some trashy player lol

And this is so stupid too. Kuzmenko is severely overhyped, all metrics show he compltely overproduced and now its showing. But again, you wouldnt know because you didnt read any of this!

Lmao the whole point of this is why would they get rid of Kuz right now when they’re trying to win? Picks and Maggio don’t help them right now

If they want to shed cap, they can do it else where since 14 points in 19 games is still good and he has talent

5 secondary assists, powerplay merchant too.

Where do they shed it? Pay to dump Garland?

You are just being so difficult for no reason lmao.

And again, this is an offseason trade bro. Contenders sell players off all the time in the OFFSEASON.

So after a 25 goal season and making 5.5 for one year left before becoming a UFA, he wont be considered to be moved for a top 40 pick, two mid picks and a future depth player? They need to shed cap to sign a defenseman or two, so he makes sense. Plus to really explain this to you, they will have these guys on their roster next season: Mikheyev, Pettersson, Garland, Lekkermaki, Hoglander, Miller, Boeser, Raty, Podkolzin, Aman. Then they have Bains and McDonough pushing for spots.

Itll make tons of sense to move him since garland will probably cost a 1st at this point to dump, plus theyll have already sent away assets in a 2024 SCF playoff push.

Does that make sense or are you gonna come up with something else now?
