Meh. Would have preferred they slip him into whatever deal they end up making to get cap space, but ultimately not a huge loss. Though if I had to pick between him, Bernard-Docker and Hamonic in the 6D spot, he's been the best of them in pre season. Probably the biggest hole in their lineup.

He just wasn't a good fit in our lineup and was surpassed by at least 7 other defensemen.

He was also the player we drafted using the 1st round pick from the Matt Duchene trade with Columbus.

He’s not terrible, probably more of a fringe NHL player as of right now. He’s been better this preseason than Hamonic or Bernard-Docker but didn’t really separate much from the pack. New setting and opportunity could help him

More offensive, good skater, not overly physical, has some defensive lapses and turnovers, bomb of a shot.

Definitely more offensive. He's got a cannon of a shot that he uses well enough at the AHL level. Decent enough passer, Decent skater and i like how he uses his stick on rush defense. Had a couple of nice positional defensive plays in his first NHL stint, but by and large he looked totally lost at the top level. He's listed 6ft 190lbs, but when you see him play he plays much smaller, I'd say he plays smaller than 5'9 Erik Brannstrom.

Don't think it's a bad bet by Anaheim, but I'm not tremendously worried that it'll end up a black eye on the organization. Anaheim is hardly hurting for D long term anyway.
