Kubalik is a good player but I'd rather this scenario than trading a 1st to offload Joseph or losing Brannstrom for nothing.

Rather lose Brannstrom to nothing. We need the forward depth. You don’t want to be 1 injury away from having Kelly or McEwen or Kastelic in the top 9

It doesn't make sense to PAY anything to move Joseph, he just made 2 statements to remind people that he is not a cap dump at all.

#7-8-9 : Greig, Pinto, Joseph
#10 : Kastelic

But you have Sokolo and Jarventie who could maybe fill in the Top-9, maybe even Smejkal after a bit of AHL seasoning, maybe Crookshank who has some offense in him

But I must admit that trading Brannstrom would allow us to NOT waive Lassi Thomson who has looked much improved the other day. We are going to trade Brannstrom eventually to make room for Kleven so it'd be doable. However I want Dorion to get a good prospect/pick. Giving him away will look really bad in a few years, particularly if Tarasenko or Korpisalo don't work out.
