You wanna dump 2 solid depth players? You don’t need to move Brannstrom

Yeah I don’t think it’s Boucher and Brannstrom it will end up being Boucher and a 2nd or 3rd with FC going to Ottawa or someone like Wade Allison who would have been on waivers anyway

We kind of do need to move Brannstrom though. If we don't move him and use just Josephs money for Pinto, we will still have cap problems and will only be able to roster a 20-21 man roster. Getting rid of both makes the most sense since it frees up around $5m and will give us enough to sign pinto and Bailey, as well as have a 23 man roster under the cap. Also, Boucher and Joseph doesn't move the needle, but adding Brannstrom will help so we dont have to give up a 1st or 2nd rounder.

21 man roster is fine especially since we can run 11-7

It's still very early in camp to make any huge decisions but that was my observations from the 2 games this weekend.

I bet they wait until last minute to make a move. See if someone gets hurt in preseason and hopefully not have to make a move at all.

And there's absolutely no chance they'd give Boucher + 1st or 2nd to move Joseph's contract. I doubt they have given up on Joseph because of 1 down season. They have been high on him for a while

They might just end up trading Kubalik or Brannstrom or acquire a LTIR contract to get accrue space. It's also possible that Norris start on the LTIR

Thomson making the big club is a looong shot. Hamonic is signed, they won't sit him. JBD is ahead of Thomson, and he'll be the 7th D.
You can't have MacEwen as part of the main line-up, he'll only dress against the Leafs, Habs and Bruins, or any team that is icing a fighter. Parker Kelly will get 4th line and PK minutes.
The trade doesn't need Brannstrom or a 4th coming back.
Pinto won't get 2.5, his comps put him just a tick below 2, so Ottawa gets in at 2.1ish.
