From what I've seen on other ACGM's and from Jets fans, if they do deal DeMelo his market value seems to be around a 2nd rounder and an additional asset.

Tanev is on the top of most Leafs fans list as a TDL target on defence. DeMelo brings a very similar element (although a bit worse), is younger and makes a bit less, on top of the Leafs getting additional assets in a deal. For Tanev, the leafs would have to severely outbid other suitors for Calgary to consider sending one of their best defenceman to a former GM. I think DeMelo is underrated and could be a solution for now.He let Morrissey do his thing offensively and pop off, while keeping that pair solid on both ends and can play up and down the lineup

NSH won’t retain on Trenin if that’s all they get— they only have one more retention slot and that will likely get used in Barrie who should bring in a better return.

The 2023 Leafs are starting the season looking better than the 2022 starting lineup but the big difference will be what Trelving does at the TDL because the 2023 playoff team looks better than the 2023 starting lineup.

I like Trevberg, especially considering there is a connection between him and Wood considering they are both at UConn, but I agree. If this was just Trenin straight, then I'd say deal, but I think it would need to be at least a 2nd for the retention
