THIS is the real bullet that Montreal dodged so far in FA. I know of multiple times that his name was brought up in conversations about who to bring in up the middle. Severe overpay for the production you're likely to get. And let's be fair, they didn't bring him in to center the third line. Luckily signing this means it's harder for them to justify signing Radulov, as it pushes Seguin to the RW and I doubt Radulov will take a deal to move to Dallas and play on the second line.

What are you saying? Seguin to the RW? Spezza will be pushed to the RW, Hitchcock wants Seguin to be there No1 center.

Not a great contract, but not devastating. The real problem is that Hanzal never plays a full season, so he should come at a discount, not be overpaid.
If they get 80 games and about 50 points out of him, it's a good deal. The most important thing is that the term is controlled.

I think this is too much, yeah he had won over 56% of his faceoffs chipping in 20 goals... Though his point total wasn't that high, probably will be 3rd line there playing in certain situations. Stars I think made a lot of moves even if they paid a bit more than should for a few of the players. I'm expecting them to be in the Post Season again so lets see how he performs there and then smile.
