Description
I saw a Toronto fan try to make the ducks a playoffs team and wondered if I could make it better. Still not a playoff team I reckon but considering Gibson finally gets some help, it might be enough.

Habs trade is really in favour of Montreal as I see it. Probably gonna get killed for that one.

Habs accept.

Brodie won't likely get moved. Despite what the idiots on the internet say, he's still very much a top defensive defenceman

Anaheim declines all tenders. Calgary trade is bad for the Ducks, San Jose trade is awful, and the Montreal trade is one of the worst I've ever seen suggested for Anaheim. I wouldn't give the first alone for that package, all of which expires in 2025, and I wouldn't trade Ryan Strome -- who recorded more points than Evans and Monahan combined last season -- for any one of those guys.

Alright, let's break this down.

1: that a lot to give up for Hanifin, unless you are a playoff lock, the 24 1st is too valuable. Mints alone should be sufficient payment, but I at least get where you're coming from here. #1D don't grow on trees.

2: you're giving up a top prospect, a 1st, a2nd, a former first, and a guy who can outproduce almost all three of them combined, for three overly expensive bottom of the lineup players. Even just trading Strome for those three is an L, that trade is absolutely catastrophic.

3: I get it, but I also laugh at the idea that you're going to make a playoff push with other teams castoffs. It's not an outrageous price to pay for him so whatever.

4: Why restock the cupboards with picks if we're going for it? We also could have signed Duckair ourselves this off-season, easily could have beat the sharks offer.

I see what you tried to do here, but I think it was a lot of moves for not much, if any, gain. Personally, I think this roster stripped the offense to reinforce the D, but would do worse than our roster as constructed this season.

I'm trying to figure out who in that Habs trade warrants that package? I don't think any one of those players are worth a 1st round pick.

As a Habs fan, truly hardcore fan, the Montreal trade is way too tilted in Montreal's favor.
Anaheim would never give up all that.
