Possibly the worst trade in Jackets franchise history.

In case you don't know, the expansion draft considerations were Vegas taking William Karlsson. Seems like not a bad deal for the Jackets. They get rid of Clarkson and they'll only lose a 3rd/4th liner in Karlsson instead of someone like Josh Anderson.

And here we are, over a year later, knowing that this was a dumb move by the Jackets ... giving up a 1st for them to take W Karlsson lol.

This aged well.

This trade is just plane bad.

In Columbus's defense, Karlsson was only a 25 point player at the time. In hindsight, Vegas wins this big time, but at the time this didn't seem like a one sided move.

Hopefully GM's don't go repeating mistakes like this with Seattle.

Oof forgot about that one. Turning Voracek & the pick that ended up being Sean Couturier into Jack Johnson and Marko Dano was definitely a bigger mistake.

And then they take another L and lose Josh Anderson for absolutely nothing.

The Islanders gave Vegas a similar package but nobody noticed that one because JF Berube was the player they paid Vegas to take. I don't remember who else they had left unprotected. The Columbus trade and the one Minnesota made that resulted in Vegas getting Alex Tuch and Erik Haula were the reason nobody wanted to trade with Seattle before the expansion draft. The one that really amazed me was Pittsburgh giving Vegas a 2nd round pick to take Fleury. Even at the time I thought he was the guy I would have taken anyway.
