This is an overpayment. He hasn't scored that many goals and likely won't be more than a third line center. A decent NHLer, but you probably could have locked him up for closer to 2 million.

Soild 3C: speed, good PKer, wins FOs, chips in 15 goals a year without PP time, can play against other teams top lines.

I've had him at a $2.5m contract. If he gets put on a higher line as a wing he should be a 20g scorer.

Oh Vegas, why didn't you just take Matt Dumba? You had plenty of options to use as a 4C, such as Burmistrov, Karlsson, Dano, and Eakin.

Honesty, the Golden Knights should've just taken Dumba, or even Staal, but instead choose an average third liner, who isn't that bad but isn't as good as a former 100 point scorer who's still going strong or a potential future top 5 d-man.

Yea, not taking Dumba was an idiotic move.

This is the contract Dustin Brown should have related to the cap hit smile. I always liked Haula so I'm just grading the contract he has for what he brings to the team on/off ice... Though others I think are rating this based on them not taking Dumba or Scandella which isn't fair. Vegas made a bad deal probably passing on Dumba right handed shot D-man who can score double digit goals that would have been worth a lot more in a trade even if didn't plan to keep him. I posted a thing in the Vegas forum to grade them on just the expansion draft on 6/21, highest I could give them was a Below Average C-. Haula is a nice gritty player who can score, get under skin, even run the goalie though... Yet he isn't the upside of a Dumba or even a Scandella who probably are or could be top 4 at worse D.

They didn't take one of those guys because this was part of a side deal where Minnesota gave them Alex Tuch in return for agreeing to pick Haula. Vegas could have said no to that, but there's no guarantee that Minnesota would have gone with the same protected list if they didn't have that deal in place. I think they did all right with Tuch and Haula.
