Honestly Tex should be like 5. That dude forechecks like a 4th liner with 2nd like skill

Hmm, Tex is tough. I struggled with where to rank him. I don’t think he’s shown the consistency to be that high, nor have O heard much about him putting in extra work, nor does he seem like a workout warrior.

I'd push Laine much higher up. That dude goes almost too hard with training and practice. He strained/tore his tricep at the end of the season because he was practicing too many faceoffs on top of his normal routine of clapping one-timer bombs. His off-season is all sorts of intense with Barkov in Finland too.

I thought of that. I know he works a lot on his shot, and put in extra time towards the end working on transitioning to center, but his work rate on the ice is very inconsistent, and he doesn’t seem to consistently put in the extra work to build strength and stay healthy. In the middle seems about right for him.

The belief with him is that it might be the opposite. He's training so hard in the off-season that he's not giving his body time to recover and be ready for the season. He was talking about considering taking it easier this off-season to see if that helps with the injuries.

I definitely don’t think he’s lazy. I’m just not sure he’s a harder worker than those ahead of him. It’s honestly really hard to quantify, especially from a fans perspective who isn’t in the room with them, so a lot of these guys could be ranked differently. Just a fun and humorous experiment more than anything

Yeah I getcha. Laine is just one of the only guys I'm somewhat familiar with what he's doing in the off-season. KJ is the other one and he seems to have just not stopped playing hockey over the last two years heh.
