Description
I personally see a very uneventful off-season for the Blues. We sign most of our RFA‘s all except Brown and Lyle. When it comes to UFA‘s, all I did was sign Sunny He’ll play fourth line and kill penalties. I also traded Leddy, one of our LD have to get moved. He’s the most likely in my opinion. I also wouldn’t mind exploring a trade for Binnington but that probably comes next offseason assuming we see something positive from Hofer.

EF said in todays 32 Thoughts that Columbus is still looking for another D with term. Of Krug/Scandella/Leddy this is what seems most likely to me

Please and thank you, let's file the paperwork.

Don't know if there's a way to bring Sunny back, though. If they sign a C, it'll be someone who wins draws.

That’s a good point. They probably do go to someone more reliable in the face off dot. But I just signed Sunny bc I’d love to see that 4th line night in night out.

Leddy has a full NTC until 2025. I'm from Columbus, and I love it there, but I have a feeling he's not waiving his NTC to go to Ohio.

Of course I'd always love Sunny back. But yeah, someone like Acciari seems more suitable at the moment. Btw did you see that Sunny was at the St Louis City SC match this weekend decked out in all City gear? Dude loves STL.

I'm honestly not sure what he'd say, but CLB is heading in the right direction, so you never know.

Bit late now that Columbus has acquired Severson, so I suspect it's a moot point.

Probably, yeah. But they still need an LD, but now cap is an issue as well.

They absolutely do NOT need an LD. They have:

Werenski
Provorov
Bean
Berni
Blankenburg
Christiansen

And Svozil and Knazko are available for callups, too. The Blue Jackets need centers. That's about it. (I'm not saying the team is GOOD, per se, but that's where they're at now.)

To be fair, other than Werenski and Provy, everyone you named is either super small, right-handed, has stone hands or realistically tops out as a depth Dman barring some late shock development surge - if not some combination of those things. I do love Svozil, though. And I cannot believe you didn;t mention Mateychuk, who's the best one of all of them.

But yeah, they probably don't splurge so much on what would be a 3LD (and maybe PP2?) guy.

Mateychuk is 19 and not ready for the NHL, so he'll remain in juniors unless he absolutely slaughters everyone in training camp. And as you said, it'll be a 3LD, and unlikely to run PP2 (since Boqvist will most likely still be around). No need to expend additional resources there.
