Would love to know why we would pay for a 29 year old in a rebuild when we could sign one in free agency?

I'd rather trade RHP at a Profit the endure the Backlash thats coming for that Anderson return you suggested.
Anderson >RHP because as good as RHP is he's a Poor Mans or a Mini version of Joel Teasdale who currently has Ylonen and RHP in his way.
Teasdale won the MVP and Memorial Cup head to head against Suzuki outscoring him not because he was a more skilled player.
He won because like Marchand he shoots within 5 feet of the net often Greasy Goals and like Gally he battles hard in the Crease after his shot is let go.
He's an ideal Pest and he doesnt let anyone push him around with the size to ensure no one runs rough shot on him like RHP

RHP is a top 6 guy in a system with too much skill to let a 25 year old Sophmore set up shop there.
Teasdale was built for the Bottom 6 but really like Paul Byron has the skills to play every role on every line.
Id rather invest in him at their age then RHP

At his current contracts term we could do well moving him especially at a TDL.
Anderson any deal we make will require a Cal Peterson type cap dump at bare minimum

RHP is not a top 6 caliber player, and if he was that would be fine in montreal who has 2 of those at the moment, with potential for 2 more with development.
