Skating is still a issue with Lafreniere and with the high pace game that Mtl want to play he doesn’t seem to fit their plan. Drafting a high end talent like Michkov instead might be more what they are looking for. They got Kirby Dach for the 13th pick not in a very average draft. There no way you got the 5th selection in this incredibly talented draft class.

There is no way that Laf is worth a top 5 pick in this draft. What has he done to warrant that?

Not sure why everyone is so gung-ho about Michov. I get he is talented but is signed through the 25-26 season. The team who drafts him has no "hands-on" with his development, a severe injury, etc. If you have a top 5 pick are you in a position to wait that long. Honestly there is a 50/50 chance Michov could be the next Kravtsov and not the next Kirril "the Thrill" Kaprizov.
