As a Van fan. If this was the Garland trade I could live with it. He's worth more but getting a fairly high 2nd is good asset. And of course not taking any cap back is big.

I think that you're making the same mistake I made earlier today in a different thread. That's not necessarily a fairly high 2nd because it's a 2024 pick, whereas the 2023 pick you're giving up IS known to be a high third.

Good point. That said just moving 5 mil straight off the books I am ultimately ok with. I think he is worth more but if no one will pay for him then just moving his cap hit will be of benefit to this team if they can reallocate the money to positions of higher need.
